Talking Hyderabad to Nizam Sagar

PLZ NOTE: IM NEW TO WRITING, MIGHT BE DISTASTROUS IF SO PLZ BEAR ME.

We started at 6:00am on 6 bikes, took almost an hour to get out of city even at 6:00am headed to medak on medak highway not on the NH7, even after taking many stops for pics and chai(at very small tea stalls in huts) still managd to reach medak by 8:00am. headed straight to medak church which is 2nd largest in asia, 157 feet tall and can accomodate 5000 people

found a small tiffin centre where we all had our breakfast(dont expect food like what we get here in cities). after breakfast went to medak fort with a small ghat like road uptill 1/4th of forts height, then took steps till top hill. view was quite good, and every 1 were clicking pics of medak and them selves so that they can put these as display pics on orkut ..

later due to thirst decided to leave the fort.it was 11:00am now

asked locals about the road to nizam sagar and pocharam lake, have to take a left just after medak town limits ends, one can easily find this no a problem. here on road looked amazing for few kms then came the strech where we were being tested for our off roading skills/ ability to brake and manovere as quick as one can . still road is enjoyable if you have an appetite for something different, after riding 50 kms approx from medak we met a small intersection, 1/2 kms after this intersection comes a small left road with a board welcome to nizam sagar(reached by 12:30pm), now here i loved this very small road, when i say very small it means very small i doubt a 800 cant pass without slowing down even when a cycle is comming from opposite direction, may be this was road designed keeping tata nano in mind. with in few minutes there we arrived at nizam sagar. trust me this is the road to ride on a bike, if youve always dreamt of riding a bike along water front with wind in your hair and no traffic then why didnt you go here???? we covered all the road till end(it goes sum where after that which we were not interested in)we found a small area where water is surrounded on 3 sides (i dont reeber what this is called may be a penunsila or sumthing). there a small canteen type thing at entrance of nizam sagar but i recommend bring food/ eatables from medak itself. sat there for almost 1 hour looking at view and few snakes in water heard nizam sagar is crocodile reserve.... people who wud like to take a dip please make sure you are insured in advance. again started back on same road but this time few got curious whats that canteen at the start of dam, it turned out to be a small park kinda place where boating is available. we found a place where we can sit with our feet in water, never thought this wud relax to the extent that you will feel sleeping there.

finally decided to start back at 3:00pm and next stop over was at pocharam lake (after riding for some 30 kms there comes a small left kucha road at a right curve, i might be confusing better ask locals for this) 1 kms from main road comes pocharam lake. lake is just ok but again therez the wall of this wall, approx 50 feet high with water on one side and rocks on other side, now heres something which makes this 300 meters road amazing there no support on either end, looks scary but ride here to feel like extra ordinary human, i dragged all alone on this & yes that was monumentarily stupid but still enjoyed. few of the friends decided for a swim and was busy clicking pictures, i bet any shutterbug will regret not going to this place if you stay near hyderabad.

left back to home at 5:00pm and reached medak by 5:30pm, we got suddenly got one aim, lets cover as much distance before it gets dark, we had almost 45 minutes in our hand and 100 kms to cover, cud cover only 60 kms(approx) in light at some blazing speeds, rest of the distance was covered at 50kmph at night due to bad roads and moneys with no traffic education they just jump infront of your bike to say boooo :P.

reached out skirts found a dhaba, ate like dogs and headed to homes. reached back at 9:00pm sharp.

wasnt tired to hit the bed. in all another place in my 200 kms radius bike trips.

Nice trip log BozaI. Pics look yummy. We went to Pocharam lake three times, but never got time to visit Medak Church. Eagerly waiting for those photos. We even thought of Nizam Sagar, but never was able to do.

We would also like to know how did the FZ performed on highways at high speeds.

I have the pics of Pocharam lake at full, overflowing. Will post the pics soon.

@cosgeo99: bike is superb on highway, though a street bike but still loved it specially on curves. but one thing i wud like to say is as every1 has been speculating abt the pillion comfort, its not as bad as every1 expected it to be. one thing i wud admitt, while going towards medak i said to my self even by butt wud be looking same like that of those moneys (red) but thanks god i didnt had to sit on pillow after returning back home....

@gnanesh: thnks

@ravi 17bhp: we didnt test top speeds(total mileage was 1200kms) but anything below 70 was feeling stationary on bike, perfomance was rock soild. felt more cofortable at 80kmph than any other 150cc bike. waiting to see your set of pics.

I guess they have seen monkeys at Narsapur forest area. You can see hundreds of Monkeys on the road. You should be very careful while riding on this stretch; literally 10s and 20s of monkeys at a place on the road, trying to cross the road, playing on the road, throughout the forest.
