Default Bangalore - Coorg Trip - Dec 6 to 7th 2008

Hi All
I did a small trip to Coorg this weekend, so thought of sharing the details so that it helps others who are planning to ride to Coorg

Started on Dec 6th, 2008 at 6:00 am
Route - Bangalore - Mysore - Take a right before Mysore (Bypass) - From the 2nd big intersection (you will cross a GRT Theme park enroute) take a right and head towards madikeri. Total distance 260 kms

I stayed at a place called Coorg Planters Camp in Madhapur Coorg Planter's Camp. The beauty of this place was it allows 1 to stay in tents (all amenities provided) in a superb location and is also not very expensive.

Apart from this the roads were good till Kushalnagar after which it deteriorates for a patch of around 10 kms, but the roads are manageable. Totally enjoyed the ride up what with all the twists and turns. While going it took me 6 hours since i spent some time asking directions, while on the return i was able to complete the journey in 5 hours

Totally enjoyed the ride and will recommend this place to anyone who is looking for peaceful place to catch up on some reading, relaxation, etc. There are also great places to visit nearby within a distance of 20 to 30 kms.

Will post pics soon.

P.S: please feel free to ask any queries / if you want any other information

I want to relive my Coorg adventure from a few months back!

10Kms of bad roads?? I only got a bad patch in the town of Periyapatna which had no roads. But then the climb up hill was pretty ok, roads were not smooth but decent!

And I hope you had visit to Bylakuppe?

@ Aryan - thanks for approving the thread

@ pranay - Coorg is not very cold a pullover / half sleeves sweater will suffice, though on the bike you definitely need a jacket. Please feel free to drop me a PM

@ prafultripathy - yup will post the pics in a days time, still need to upload them. Yes the roads were bad around that area, but definitely rideable. nope didnt go the bylakuppe as i ran out of time (more of a nature guy, so was chilling near the plantations, waterfall only)
