Hey hey Funny Punia..... nice name given to the incident
Just recalled another thing, Alistair referred to Bunny as "one of khoolest guys around"!!
Of course Alistair Well, I didnt want to amaze him more. He was already quite mesmerized by the beauty Kashmir has to offer, and on top that "bouy O' bouy! I dinn-ow bikhers in India also wear such ridin gears...?? Am amazed buddy.."
Also we were already on the bikes gearing to go the 1/1000 way

Hey Shailay, could you upload some of them pics in HQ? I am using some of these current ones as my wallpaper but as stretched they look pixelated. :/

Day 05: Upshi to Leh and around
We rode less than 80 kms today. Just from Upshi to Leh and around. It was quite a relaxing day. Amit was fined for helmet in Leh. He went out to see if there is any mechanic around for some minor tweaks and washing. Rest of the day was spent in Leh. Got the pass for KhardungLa from the DC.
Here are the photos:

I may sound a bit offbeat here when I say that LEH itself is not as beautiful or exciting (deriving that conclusion from the pics that I have seen) as the route to LEH is. Anyone who agrees to what I have to say?

LEH just seems to be any other small town just like manali or srinagar.

++1.. agreed.. the journey to LEH is extra ordinarily beautiful than the core LEH city.. but the view around this city as well is unique & amazing...
we use to peep out of the window to find the snow mountains around starring at us & calling

Thanks rachit. It's nuff said now . I am more of a planner you see and so I have been following yours (primarily; since I plan to do 2010 Mumbai-Leh) and Shailays and other couple of recent threads about LEH. I find it mandatory to collect notes, tips and such.

It seems like we are hijacking Shailay's thread. I hope he doesn't feel bad about going offtopic in his thread.

Anyway my tentative itinerary so far:

Directions to Leh, Jammu and Kashmir, India - Google Maps

and

Directions to New Delhi, Delhi, India - Google Maps

To spend 2 days in delhi, 3 or more days in manali and while coming from LEH to srinagar, a halt at gulmarg 'n kargil. Rest is pretty much as it looks on the map.
