Hey guys all these tips are quiet handy when you are bringing home your bike .. . . .I penned down whatever came in my mind. Guys dont hesitate to add on your inputs here. Lets make this going
To start off with I av the Do's and Dont's
Do's

a)While taking the deliviry inspect your bike for any damages. If any doubts pop outs in your head dont hesitate to ask the salesman. Eat his brain if needed.
b) Since you are new, familarize yourself with the bike. She is your new mate spend your first night with her properly.
c) Fill up the best quality fuel available in your city.
d)Keep your bike in the safest place possible. Great if she is with in your sight. Many onlookers just come by your bike and do all stupid things which can harm your mate.Some people envy and could do harm.Be careful
e)Find a good helmet which suits you and your bike

Donts
a)Since you are new to your bike never try go to rough on handling. You are not familiar and will take time to adjust to the twists and turns of your bike.You need to understand your bike well.
b)A big NO to stunts. She is a virgin and be soft and gentle to her.
c)Keep off the potholes as far as possible
d)Never fill the roadside petrol in case of emergency
e)keep off unnecessary short rides.
f)Keep away rain
2) The speed & precautions during Run In
a)avoid high revs. A max of 6 rpm in each gear. Keep your max speed between 60-70.Its because the piston is new and will get time adjusting. But rev it hard 1nce or twice so that you dont lag behind in initial pull. After it finishes her run-in you can rev her to the glory and feel the wild side of your mate
b)ride it the most smoothest manner possible. Proper Gear Shifting.

Well there are a number of things to be checked during PDI ( pre- delivery inspection ). You just gave a gist of dos and donts.

- Check oil level ( visual and on dip stick ) And other fluids on the bike if any ( gear oil, coolant etc )

- check all lights, switches for proper operation

- Check tyres for bulges/cuts/improper fitting on rim. Also that the tyre pressure is correct ( can be done after delivery at a good petrol pump).

- Check stand ( side, and main ), put the bike on the stand, and remove

- Open fuel filler, and inspect inner area for rusting or any other foreign objects

- Check battery if already installed for correct level and installation ( generally they put the battery afterwards.

- check air filter box, and connection to the carburettor ( all clamps, joints should be secure

- Check spark plug cap and cable ( should be properly connected, not loose, and without play).

- Check Chain, for correct tension, and lubrication.

- Check brakes (they say they are new, and will take time to bed in, which is correct, but still they should have a good degree of bite ).

- Check the front forks for kit kit sound while holding the brake, and pressing down on the front forks. Also the fork inner tubes should be checked for any kind of metal
protuding outwards. This might cause a leak of the forks later on. the chromed surface should be smooth, and without any marks/scratches/scoring of any sort.

- Check the rear suspension for balanced damping. At the same time, ensure that the chain tensioners on either side are equidistant from the swing arm.

- Take a test ride, with your ears open for any unwanted noise/vibration etc. ( preferably at low speeds and in the lower gears, where a problem would reveal itself more). Its ok to rev the engine a little bit, though the mechs would advise against it, but if there is any unwanted noise, it will present itself at this point. The idle rpm of the engine should be within range as specified.

Also the clutch lever play should be within range or lower, since its gonna increase only till the first service generally.

- Also do a quick read thru of the owner's manual, that will help cross check anything that you've missed. This will help ensure that your bike is complete in every aspect.
