Hello All,
This thread is meant for easy solutions to mostly common electrical problems faced by Bikers. These solutions can be in form of DIY or which can be done by an average mechanic. This thread should be strictly limited to solutions only and no queries should be asked, also there can be multiple solutions to the same problem. Also solutions should be limited to stock set up with or without minor modifications as drastic mods to electricals require complicated fixes.I sincerely hope all members contribute here with their personal experiences. Cheers! |

My contribution:
If your Tacho shows unusual RPMs(than the normal), then your battery needs charging/check.

If you are riding at night on a low battery and suddenly the headlight goes off, it means your battery has finally ran out of juice. I had this scary experience in the ghaats near shrivardhan at 8pm in night! If at all the bike's headlight is AC meaning it requires the engine to be running and fluctuates with the RPMs, then simply disconnect the battery terminals. The horn and other DC things including stater won't work, but the headlight as well as the bike will run perfectly.
DON'T try this on a DC bike like new Pulsars and ZMA! |

Here's my experience: My bike's battery was not getting charged properly, got it checked, one of the cells was dead.Sol- got the battery replaced.Problem of charging still persisted,so I went to The Battery Expert!Guy certified everything was fine even though I told him self+horns not working properly
![]() After going to 2 more "Expertos" and prospects of heavy wallet weight reduction cause of electricals replacement, the 4th guy(simple mechanic) just opened the Coil and polished all surfaces with sandpaper!Everything back to normal.Cost:- Rs 20 ![]()

Spraying WD 40 into errant switches during rainy season makes them work as new!
@Mithun: Not really true for all bikes. New bikes do NOT have this issue. My bike's battery died yesterday. When I push started my P180UG3, the RPM was just fine.

The older P180s were having the same problem even the v2. So it seems to be like that the problem is solved because of full conversion to DC.
