[xBhp Universal Thread]: 220 Rear Brake Issue - HELP!!

Folks, very lately I've had a chance to inspect the rear tyre of my 220, while lubing the chain. The problem is, when rotated, the wheel, at a particular point becomes tight and then spins as normally as it should.. Now it's not the Bybre updated brake system, just the Kalyani-BOSSch stuff. ;D

As per my examination, I've not heard any continuous screeches or weirdo sounds of any kind during riding or braking from the rear. Occasionally, when the tarmac is water ridden, some screeches when braking, other than that it's fine.

Now I've made sure the disc is not bent, 100%, yes. But upon a micro examination, when the rear wheel is rotated, I can see the brake pads, at that particular place where it gets hard upon rotaton, I can feel the brake pads crunching on the disc that literally I can see the pads slightly moving back and forth upon the rotation be it forward or backward.

Folks, any idea on what to do? Should I change the brake pads, check for disc bent issue, cos upon my examination the disc is perfect, no visible dents or bent issues, or is there something more to it... Thanks....

Bends are very hard to notice with naked eye unless it's major. Most probably it's bent. Any instance you can think of which may have caused this? look more closely
I had to get changed the front disc changed once after a minor accident

How old is your Chain and sprocket?
I suppose even an old chain/sprocket which usually does get tight a certain places could be the problem.

The steed is one year old, thus clocked only 2500 Kms, I use her sparingly. But very lately, I came to know about this issue. I took her to my local mech, and he said the problem is with the brake pads, I was kinda, buggy and still in decision mode.

The bike has not had any rough treatment, since I am the only one using it. What I am concerned is since it's the Kalyani stuff.. Will look more closely and check if there are problems with chain or the disc... Thanks guys for your prompt response..

what to decide..just change the pads and see... its just some 160 bucks or something.also check your chain sprockets and your disc again..

Disc bends are hard to notice. But as the rear disc is quite protected from most impacts, that may not be the case. Try aligning the wheel by experts. Check the chain and sprocket. Even I've heard from friends of chain-sprocket set causing uneven tension at less than 3k kms. Hmmm..

Thanks Satan and lijok. Will get it rectified, on an ASAP basis... And also, are probiking guys good enough for a good alignment, cos I've never taken her back to the probiking, after I took delivery. Just kinda bugged by the usual probiking sickness... thx...
