Hi,
I want to bring my bike from Delhi to Chennai. Do I've to pay any additional road tax in Chennai or any other sort of formalities so that i can use it in my daily commute?? P.S.: I am not sure if this question belongs to this forum but i couldn't find any other relevant place.

Firstly you have to get NOC from Delhi, you could use the bike without registering it for the period mentioned in NOC 6 months-1year. After 1 year you will have to pay life time road tax here in Chennai which is around 9% of the vehicle cost.
I got this info from a local RTO agent and in my case (R15) he told that total expense involved in the entire process would be Rs 12,500 ![]() .Could someone from Chennai give more info in this context |

Guys, check out Agarwal Packers and Movers. They have a pan india presence. Although they charge a little more than others but they transport your bike in a good condition.
I used their services to get my bike from Pune to Delhi. They come to your place, pack the bike in front of you using bubble polythene, cardboard and gunny bags. Also they will deliver the bike at your door step. PS - My bike (ZMA) was delivered with no damages and scratches

Previously I had sent my Zma as luggage in train , they put something heavy on the petrol tank which made a big dent ...Other big issue is getting bike re registered in Chennai... |
