One question. How advisable will it be to simply plug in my earphones( without music) for a certain amount of noise cancellation?

@Praful : lemme know if ur doing any bulk order for these plugs. Will take some 10 or 20 of them.

Now this is why i love my XBHP. I never stop learning.
I will definitely be ordering about 50 pairs for myself. If you are interested, then let me know.

@GS: Thanks for the address mate!

Guys - they don't do 50 pairs. Theirs is a minimum order of 100 pairs. Talk to them but I don't think they will do it.

email me before you order anyway - if they don't agree to ship, I'll help pick-up and ship-out etc.

I think they were talking Rs.750 for 500 pairs if you order in bulk - that is awesome VFM! I'll be picking up 500 pairs if they hold to their offer.

Phew! Never came across this thread on xBHP!
I personally use an in-ear type earphone.... and apart from 'occulsion' as GS mentioned, I have ended up breaking like a zillion of them... One reason on why i stick to cheap philips in ear ones for rides now! at about 1200 they are much viable as compared to the triports (2 x R.I.P so far :P) which my friend smuggles for me

The ear phone and the iPod stays inside the jacket, and I work the wires from behind my ears so sat to allow certain amount of play... plus the balaclava helps hold it snug and acts as a 'dampner'!

Having said that, although I was kinda aware about the issues of listening music all the while! I was blatantly ignorant about the wind noise! No shame in admitting that!
Will start using the ear plugs now!
PS: I already have about 3 pairs of the ear plugs, courtesy Kuwait airlines freebies :P

Here I go!

Sir,
50 pairs are for Prajwal only. Praful wanted few and I want few. That'll make 100 easily. And now the 500 for 750/- calls for a big bangalore order I assume.
My question. Why so many pairs?? are they disposable ones?
As i asked before, is this a lifetime purchase? ( not being sarcastic). Just curious.

Yes these are disposable. You cannot wash and re-use them and this is for the best because the ear is pretty mucky anyway. Wax and all sorts of crap...I would prefer to use a fresh pair for every 24 hours of use.

As long as you keep your ears clean - you can extend that to maybe 48 hours but beyond that, even the foam stops working the way it should thanks to all the wax, moisture etc. You'll know when to chuck it for a new pair.
