+1 Perfectly stated.
@thread starter. Dont go beyond this post to decide...this is the crux of the entire matter...

I have a budget of 1.5 lacs, the Kawasaki Ninja is too costly and way costly...

I have tested Yamaha r 15 and Pulsar 220 DTS fi...

I felt R15 is good at higher speed, the handling was good, but the torque was less at lower speed. The technology is so advaced coz of 6 speed transmission, 4 valve engine, Fuel injection.

The pulsar 220 was quick and fast in city traffic... but while reving at high speed, i felt its little unresponsive... The projector head lamp was class thing...

The new karizma is tempting because of its new fairing and the speedo meter and the tail lamp...

I want to test the new ZMA...

Post which, i will jot down all your valuable suggestions.

The new one is ZMR...

Also in R15 you will feel the torgue once 50% of the RPM has been done for every gear.... so on higher speeds its marvelous bike to ride, perfect handling, breaking, technology....
My vote for the R15

Pulsar 220 ...brute power...but mechanic friendly bike if not maintained properly ( mechanic friendly means will make friends with mechanic)
ZMR latest techology
ZMA-R the fuss free bike (personal experience)

The Daytona kit is a over rated over priced "performance" kit.... plus it will make your bike illegal on roads...

^^ Daytona kit is not street legal, and i think you'll also be losing warrenty.

Cost : Engine Kit is Rs. 31,000

Body kit is Rs. 20,000

So for 50k you'll be getting better top end performance and will not (legally) be able to ride on the streets...

I would not go for it, c'mon man, instead of 1.6 lac for the R15 plus Daytona Kit, i would take a lac loan and buy the Ninja!!

Don't get me wrong i love my R15, but there it is...

Cheers,

Shr.

Yeah rightly said... I can't use it in city.... so i'm finalizing R15.. since many of you suggested... and shreyas pls batao:

1) wat are problems you faced with R15

2) what about the cost of spare parts... is it costly

3)Is it advisable to use FZ 16 tyre in r 15 will it bring down the performance... the FZ16 tyre is superb... i always wanted to see R15 with bigger tyres.

All,

Please don mind if i'm asking too many questions...

it 'coz its gonna be my first bike with my own money... i don wanna take chances... and i respect the BIKE as my identity....

Thanks

the R15 tyres have excellent grip and i doubt whether the frame supports the FZ16 tyre as i heard from someone the gap between the tyre and swing arm is hardly 1 or 2 cms

1) No problems mate (touch wood), excellent bike. 5700 Km's so far and nothing out of the ordinary. Take good care during run in and clean / lube the chain every 500 Km or so and she'll be smooth as butter.

2) Yes, comparatively costly, but not too much.

3) Never ever do that!! Stock is the best, ride it and take a curve to understand why , bigger is not always better right?

The R15 is an enthusiast’s bike. If you are a bike enthusiast, go for it, enuf said!!

Cheers,

Shr.
