Thumbs up My first gear less love Rodeo

It was on 1st of May 2010, sitting in my pune home thought of giving something back to my parents which give them care, safety and convenience from the traffic and parking with a decent amount of power as a small token of love from my side.

I had seen loads of Activas and Dios, Pleasures and other Access scooteretes, though i liked this bikes from Hero Honda and honda but somewhere back of my mind it was running that i want something better and different , suddenly heard the news that TVS has launched the WEGO in pune, it had a refreshing and decent looks with adequate power which i really liked when i took a test-ride in pune, so thought of surprising my parents when i will go to my home town Goa.

So finally i came down to my home town went to the KALA TVS the biggest TVS dealer in Goa last week, but i was surprised to know that TVS has still not started supplying the bike in goa, with a heavy heart i was sinking.

Lastly with a heavy heart went to mapusa at Costa Motors, test drove Flyte, Duro and Rodeo.

Though all 3 are good, sturdy and powerful bikes from Mahindra powered by SYM Engines, i particularly got attracted to the Rodeo, it was not just the power surge where it touched 0 to 60 in a span of 5 secs, but there was something in the scooter which pulled me towards it.

I also liked the front fueling system provided by mahindra as thats a convenient tool for old people who may not be able to balance vehicles and open seat to fill petrol in the petrol pump.

I over all loved the design and luckily i got the chance to test ride the vehicle in cross winds on mandovi bridge and i was amazed with the stability even at a speed of 70 the scooter was stable, also the braking was too good.

I finalized the Chocolate Brown color as i wanted to have a different and unique color and that color was really amazing as its a head turner.

First day run is close to 80 kms.

Kudos to mahindra for launching a awesome power scooter and they dont play dirty games of waiting periods and give vehicles in black as other manufacturers do.

Gray-haired riders don't get that way from pure luck.

Cool! I too like the rodeo. Both name and looks are so different and good. Ya that chcolate brown colour is a true head turner. Hope your parents have a nice time with a new ride. Never ridden it anyway. But are you sure it only takes 5sec to 60. B'coz if that's true it should beat pulsar150!!

I thought you were asked to rest your eyes!
- Rodeo, another marketing disaster name but undoubtedly a good product!

Good! Psst: More than love, I guess this is your way of convincing them to allow you buy the 'bigger' bike

Well written buddy

According to me Rodeo is one of the most responsive scooters I have driven around this segment.....

@ aryan - thanks for the approval

princesirohi - please find the attached pics ( still more to come)

Devilpulsarian - Comfort (excellent)
Mileage i got 42 km in bumper to bumper traffic in highway it gave me mileage of 46.7 but i have to ride it below 60 to get that mileage or it gives around 44. The biggest problem with activa is if you are a tall rider than after riding for some 30 kms you get numbness feeling in thighs and lower back but in Rodeo i never felt it. Secondly activa wobbles in cross winds while rodeo is stable. braking in rains was excellent as compared to Suzuki access 125, vecause of the wide tyres.

satyen - i wanted to buy the wego but not still launched in goa (TVS marketing in goa is sleeping) Honda does lot of black marketing in goa where they sell their scotters to known people first bypassing the people who are waiting, i have seen people waiting for 4 months in case of dio and activa whereas hero honda is bad in service terms and again there is black marketing in pleasure there also.
True the marketing strategy adopted for this bike is wrong.

killer_instinct - nice choice your friend will not regret even in big speed breakers.

harishkumarko - ya man even i was like surprised seeing the speedo touching to 60 in 5 secs, started wondering how come its possible so did a sprint race with activa and access 125, the timing of rodeo was a bit ahead in miliseconds then the access 125.
