Would be unfair to say that P135 can't give reliable, stable performance and be a "tough" vehicle.

From my two week experience of riding the P135LS, I found it as one of the best engine + handling package to have come from Bajaj, not to mention the near perfect gearbox.

For proof: How many serious issues have the P135 owners reported on xBhp?

In comparision with the Gladiator, the Gladiator with its relatively upright posture and softer suspension would be a bit more comfortable.
In performance and handling, the P135LS would have an edge over the Gladiator.

The P135LS has slight vibes at around 6000 mark, but post that, the engine again smoothens out.
The way the 4 valve engine feels and performs at high revs is a delight.

i would recommend the gladiator for long term usage. It fits all your requirements.

I have never said it was -1 for pulsar... Below are my thoughts and experiences.

Pulsar has been very notorious in maintaining their performance when we look after 2-3 years of use. Bajaj's engine just gives up, don't know why. Yes, there are people who have pulsar and they maintain their vehicle in topnotch condition. But i am talking about the normal commuter here. As far toughness goes, here pulsar won't be able to edge Yamaha's bike. I have used Crux R for 10 years with out break down and engine was repaired after 6 years of use. As far as reliability is concerned, i am sure i should consider it's a new vehicle, so it's still time to comment about it, But i still gave it to Yamaha Glad because my brother has one.

That's a sweeping statement to make, generalizing the P135 on "other guys" experience of older generation pulsars.

By the way, apart from the Pulsar branding, everything is different on the P135LS.

You have an experience of the Gladiator, accepted. But the moot point is, do you have experience of riding or owing the P135LS..??

I have a two week experience of riding, ripping and throwing it round corners. And I am pretty sure the newest Pulsar is no less than any Japanese offering.

just two weeks of riding experience is not enough to say about the toughness & reliability of any bike.

Just tell me how much fair is it to give the term reliable to a bike which has not even completed its one year?? May it be bajaj, yamaha, honda or even ducati. If any new bike is launched with a new engine then a minimum period of one year should be given in order to check if its reliable or not & if any problems do not arise then we can call it a reliable bike.

BTW the engine oil seal leakage is not a small problem & i have noticed this problem in few p135's.

mate p135 is a better choice, as someone said in the thread its different from other pulsars and all together its a better package compare to glady
then when it comes to Reliability i think its depend upon the way you ride and maintain the bike,
guys its time to change the general belief that if it is called pulsar then its NOT RELIABLE

It is much better than not riding or not having any first hand experience of it at all and yet giving expert advice on it.

But calling it "not realiable" is perfectly ok. Is it..??

In case there are issues then let the owners (there are many in xBhp) speak about it.

1) I never said the p135 is unreliable - infact i said Yamaha has a reputation of being more reliable that doesn't make it -1 for p135. (See my comment)

2) Who said P135 unreliable again ?

3) As the Op said, 2 weeks time gives you nothing... Give it some time 1 year is perfect to know what's p135 is made of.

At least you accept that till now there has been no issues..!!

Like I have said, I have lived with the bike for 2 weeks. Its better than not having sat on it and still act an "expert" on it.

By the way, the Pulsar 135LS was launched last Dec, so in July 2010, it makes around 7 months have passed since its launch.
So by the "1 year standard", the P135LS should receive the certificate of a "reliable" bike after 5 more months..!!

5 months is not too much to wait for. Come on P135LS.. you can do it..!! Ha Ha ha.
