I am having second thoughts because it is not much of a dealership and they do not have a proper service set-up as of yet. this bike sells for 3500 USD in US with an 18 month guarantee. the price i am talking about is like buying it "as is" if anything is seriously wrong with the bike, these guys will repair or replace the parts but after that they won't give me after sales service. yes the bike looks spectacular and the built quality is up to the mark. the frame looks very sturdy and the seating position gets you instant adrenaline and hypertension. the only thing is I want to be sure about the brand itself.

the second hand bikes, though used ones, are still of japanese origin and the tech at engine and frame levels is very advanced and the machines are built to last. so sometimes its better to buy a used bike from UAE or say ( god bless good luck) from Germany than buying a brand new bike of soviet or chinese origin. hence all the doubt.

trying ot lookup some ownership experiences on Indonasian forums.

here's the info about megelli Megelli Motorcycles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Just look around you. If there are very good no.s of the bike then you can go for it. The best idea would be to meet a well experienced mechanic or an owner of this bike who has been owning this bike for a minimum of one year period.

Even I am now having second thoughts about recommending this bike.

Come think of it, 6 months warranty, if anything goes wrong, the replace the parts and void your warranty.

Imagine if there is a battery failure, they will replace it and void the warranty.
The next day, your bike's engine dies.
Warranty void, nowhere to go.

And single cylinder on a 250 cc bike with 27 BHP is a strict no-no.

And no one here is sure of the brand either.

My advice: avoid

6 months warranty??????? just don't even consider it will be a waste of your money. instead save more and get a jap bike.

OK !!! I have wasted all of the last season here in Dushanbe and still have practically gone in and bought the megelli 250 R only to have that the dealer had a major transport breakdown and the delivery got delayed.

call me stupid but i could not hold on any longer and went on to buy a 1998 Yamaha xjr 400. now i want to share everything about this bike and my experience with life of a biker with Indian soul thrown into CIS and the biking scene here.

going to publish some snaps here. will be bringing this great piece of machinery from its present sad state to bat shit crazy tuning.

purpose is channeling into all your folks experience to make the most of it,

thanks in advance to all the responses and suggestions. cheers!

congrats on the purchase, though it took you one full year to decide and purchase.

post some pics of your yamaha, and tell us how is the condition, it has run how many kms etc...

you can also post a few pics of your city.... i would love to see some.

You bought it still?
I am quoting motorcycle.com here
Quote:
"It’s too bad that all that pretty plastic is brittle.""The 250R’s undertail muffler makes big noises. It is stamped EPA-legal, but we were still wondering how it got through."
These lines kind of got to me
But for 1.2L its a steal!
