    Same Confusion

    Hello All,

    I am a proud owner of 2006 Gladiator DLX. Happy with its performance quality and etc.. etc.;
    But I think its time to move on for a bigger cc bike. My Budget is 80k if it is a new bike.
    45k if it is an RX135 5s (wanted to install good shocks, front disk & good tyres)
    Kithna dena chahiye? 40kmpl atleast. I am sane rider, I do ride fast but not a stunter or rash rider.

    Wanted to avoid Bajaj products as maintenance is more and les quality compared to other manufacturers & its become more common on indian roads. (No intention to hurt anyone, my personal opinion. dont want any arguements on this)

    I live in Bangalore and know few mech's who can handle RX's and know a mech in mysore who can help me in difficult situations. But I would like to go for long rides as well on my bike. Is RX 135 suitable for long rides?
    How much distance I can ride it nonstop around 70 to 80 kmph speed?

    Then Apache RTR 180 I have done lot of research on this. One common issue vibrations, bad tyres and then some issues with electricals.
    Is it comfortable for logn rides? I am 5.7 & 75kgs.

    If both the above options are not for me. Please suggest a good bike for me. I can wait upto 6 months if there are any good coming soon bikes.

      anyday a apcahe 180 will be better then Yamaha Rx 135

        The RX is a very good bike & the fuel efficiency might be something around 40kmpl if ridden sanely. Although i dont know about the comfort factor of it. The apache is another performance bike but the long drives comfort is not good due to its cramped & sporty riding position. The fuel efficiency of it is also same as of RX.


        Try the karizma which is the best touring bike. Fuel efficiency is decent & the power is also comparable with others.

          MADHAV is right.
          Apache is not very good for touring more than 200 kms at a stretch.
          But Vibration is not a big issue.you will be addicted to in in some days.and it only exist between a limited RPM range.(I had a Gladiator before I bought my Apache,as Apache suits my riding style).

          RX 135 is a great bike,but,again,its touring capabilities are not that great(engine heating n such problems,being a 2stroker).

          Karizma is a great tourers,but you dont get the milage you have quoted...

          Then comes FZ---its all about comfort.If you dont want high speed,then this is the bike for you.My friend is getting nearly 40 kmpl on FZ....wot can I say more,you yourself are a Yammie,so you know how a Yamaha rides.

          For Touring I would have suggested you a P220,but as you are not interested in it,FZ is the real option.

            if it's for touring,Zma is the best option that is out there..

              as per ur requirements and making it a straight forward n small post:

              ZMA: if u can manage with the mileage...

              RTR 180: if u can take 10-15 minz breaks after every 200-250 kms. stretch while touring...

              P.S. RTR 180 is suggested as if u r more of a city rider like me n want shooting acceleration and ZMA if ur more of a tourer.

                I agree with Gary and Srini!

                I would suggest you to go ahead and buy one Karizma.

                Its Frugal, Very Relaible, Decently efficient, Comfortable, looks good too still.

                  Exactly.

                  For touring:ZMA
                  for city:RTR180

                  But if you need more power, choose none other than P220S.
