Hi guys,
This is my first post here at this forum. I'm planning to buy a new bike by 24th March 2011. But I'm not able to decided which one to buy. Currently I have in my list Karizma ZMR and Yamaha R15. Now, I'm 5'7 and around 60 kg. So I want to have a bike which should go with my personality. Some of my friends say that ZMR would be heavy to handle for me and also it will not go well with my personality. About R15, I really like the looks but I scared about the service station which is about 55kms from my place (Jharsuguda). If any problem, I'll have to go there everytime. Also I heard about the new model coming up as 2011 R15. I have been waiting for this from Jan but still the dealers have no clue about this new one. Currently I have 2005 model Passion+. Mainly I use my bike to go to my workplace (5-6 kms) and for small rides in city (which is not a crowded one). Also I go on long rides occasionally ( once in 3-4 months). So can you guys please give me some suggestions to choose a perfect bike for me. Main questions to sum up: + Will ZMR go along with my personality. + R15 has nearest service station 55kms away. Can this be a problem for me? + Also if I go for R15 then should I really wait for 2011 R15. When can I expect the new model to be out in our locality. |

All New Engine Fairing - New Headlamp Assembly - New 10 spoke Alloy Wheels - Proper Split Seat - New Instrument Cluster - New Shades (Expected) - New Decals/Graphics..... so IMO if u buy the current sports edition....it wont make much f a difference.... @khush Please avoid using SMS lingo on the xbhp forum, my eyes are hurting after reading your post~!
@satya_love The ZMR and the R15 are very different bikes in the same price bracket! ZMR- Its a tourer to the core, with a comfortable riding position, stress-free, smooth engine much like the karizma. Ofcourse the major difference being Fuel Injection! R15- The R15 is a track tool, sporty crouched riding position and a rev happy engine, great handling too. This bike is much smaller than the ZMR in size ofcourse! So you choose what you want, a relaxed tourer with decent performance, OR a Rev-happy, great handling, Racing machine! BTW the bike which goes with your personality is the one you love to ride and love the feel of riding it!! NOT how your friends think you look on the bike

go for R15, your size just match with R15, ZMR will be too big.
service center being 55kms away may not be a problem......and who knows, in a few years a noew service center might come up somewhere near.....new bikes won't suffer from a complete breakdown, you only need to go to service center for regular servicing.....and that should not be a problem.... if you can wait for new R15 ....its better to wait otherwise current R15 is good enough,...... and believe me .....you will be more than happy with R15...its performance, handling, braking, and......sporty styling.....aahh....too good. |

Test ride both the bikes and chose which you liked.

Nobody here knows your personality. If you meant physique, both of them will suit you but the R15 will suit you more. The ZMR might feel a bit heavy though.

No official word on the new R15 yet. It could also be possible that a new version might never come out.

Thanks everyone for the advice.
Took a test ride for both these bikes. ZMR was not as heavy as I expected it to be. Very smooth ride indeed! And R15 was something different from the normal bikes. Good acceleration and I really liked the sitting stance. So for now R15. And I'm really looking forward to 2011 R15. Quote:
