Hi All,

I am posting this on my friend's behalf. He is planning to buy a scooty pep. We saw a 2007 December model pep today. 15000 logged on the odo. I could see a bit of rusting on the silencer and some metal casing parts. Documents are valid and insurance was renewed this March. Could someone please indicate the acceptable range of price for this? Owner has quoted 27k I felt it's a little too high.What do you think?

Too high indeed. A price of 15k should be more sensible.

I was in the second hand scooty market a couple of months back looking for a scoot for my friend. I came across multiple activas 2 years old 10-15k on odo and about 17-20k inr. A scooty pep should cost less coz it's an Indian company made vehicle, hondas usually have higher resale value.

27k for 2007 model and for Pep.
I guess the owner has recently fitted/changed some things so he is asking for such price.

You can get a better scooter/bike 2nd around 30k.
TVS Scooty Teenz starts from Rs. 30700 on road.
Pep around Rs. 39000 on road.

The price is right as the current prices of scooty pep+ is 47 k so its close to activa or any other honda or suzuki access, then how can you expect scooty value to be down. again scooty yields more mileage than the honda and access and maintenance cost is lesser.

I can say this as i had bought a scooty pep + for my wife last year and i was also shocked at the price.

Thanks a lot for the valuable inputs people! My friend decided against buying that one especially after seeing the rusting. And yeah, prices seem to be really high in Bangalore for second hand vehicles be it pep or RE (Another friend of mine is looking for RE). But it's really baffling that such a small vehicle costs so much
