Hi guys.I am in dire need of your advice here! Here is the current situation
Bike owned as of now: Yezdi Roadking. Having just completed by B.E , I have found a job in a start up that pays a meager salary .Finding it difficult to maintain, and quench the RK's thirst for petrol .With petrol at 80rs/litre(71 here in Blore+9rs oil) it is costing a bomb.Plus it is quite difficult to ride in very heavy traffic for a long time.i think i can get around 20-25k for the RK.So,i've decided to part with my first love . Now,considering the fact that i am not eligible to apply for a personal loan( not meeting minimum salary requirements) i have to buy a normal bike. Have made an agreement with dad where he provides an interest free loan and i pay emi from my salary to him .Other important conditions: I have plans of higher studies after 2yrs.So the bike must be hassle free for 2yrs atleast. Bike should be capable of touring and returning a decent mileage during touring.Atleast 40. Money available in excluding RK's value =30-40k Possibilities : 1.Buy Pulsar 150 2nd hand- 2008 model onwards.Less than 10-15k kms done. Not sure abt how much this would be.50k? 2.But new Pulsar and then sell it after 2yrs. 3.I am a huge fan of Royal Enfield.Always wanted to own one in my life. But its way over my budget.Doubt if i can get a good electra or thunderbird twinspark for 60-70k rs. Please suggest! Thanks in advance |

Pulsars are dirt cheap in II hand market, I would suggest you buy a II hand Pulsar and then when you have saved enough you may go in for some decent Honda/Yamaha bikes. Don't buy new Pulsar it's going to cost you close to 80K and after 2 years you get very less (compared to Honda/Hero Moto/Yamaha bikes) as Bajaj keeps upgrading...btw II hand 2008 Pulsar will cost you 35-40K only not 50K, bargain hard and you can get it for less as many Pulsars are up for sales - 365 days |

A 2nd hand Pulsar should be your best bet. You can probably go for a UG2/UG3 model for as less as 15-20k. Spend another 5-6k fixing it and you are good to go.
