Default The battle of the Enfields

My cousin is in the process of finalising a bike... We started of from the Pulsar 135 and the RTR and finally have decided on a Royal Enfield Classic (please do not ask me how we ended here... I might shoot someone...)

So now the final dilemma is which classic (OMFG do these dilemmas end...!!) I am suggesting him the Classic 500 whereas he thinks the Classic 350 will be enough... I always say the more the merrier ... And ofcourse the 500 has FI...

What do you guys think...? Please do suggest... Thanks

Both 350 and 500 looks almost same, I would suggest the 350 would be enough and profitable until he is a serious tourer or hungry for more power or a heavy rider. It will be better to test ride both and follow the heart, on which ever he falls in love pick that .

Thanks young... I know both are exactly the same... And he is strictly gonna be a city commuter... He is a person who loves riding bikes but his passion is limited to commuting...

350 makes sense but then I thought if he is paying 1.25 for 350 shell out 20k extra 150cc and Fuel Injection... Does the FI make a lot of difference...?

500cc make much better sense than 350cc especially when you get better power and everything along with FI and that too for a very very very reasonable amount... high torque and power are not just for touring... theyll be helpful in city also, and who know he may even start touring after buying the bike :P

For city 350 would make more sense but since ur cousin has the option of getting the 500, 500 is the way to go.....

there's one more thing, you need to consider, bullet's FI is not a proven and time tested thing. remember initial P220 had some problems with FI system, which they later sorted out. Apache still has some problems in FI. so a new technology from a manufacturer that has stuck too long with age old technology may give problems.

i am not trying to scare you away from 500, but do enquire with persons who already own one.

from what i have heard, is that soon the Cl500 is coming with carb engine, not FI. and there are some gripes with the 500cc engine. Go with the 350 if its enough power for him.. else the 500 is the only answer..

yup everyone is doubting the FI... I think 350 should be my final answer... And nah he isn't a power rider... A very sedate rider infact... I think his best speed achieved till now is 80kmph on his avenger 200...
