Default New bike to Buy in the Sport Category

Hey Guys,

I am new to this Bike Category and recently I have grown passion for Sports Bikes. Believe it or not I am turning 25 and I do not know how to drive a Motorcycle and I am learning to drive on a R15 and its coming out Good. Once i get my license. I am planning to a Bike in the 250 CC Probably CBR 250.

CBR 250 as i have gone through many reviews have got the max points.

Should I wait for more bikes to come out??
I do not want to go above 1.75 L as it will be my first bike.

Guys help me out here

Cheers and welcome me to the Bike Community.

wow! not everybody in india get R15 as a learner's bike. lucky guy.

Anyway, You get no option other than CBR250 within 1.75lacs. And with ABS it is one the safest bike here leaving Apache. But if you are in no hurry and enjoying riding R15, Yam's gonna launch R15 ABS in the Q1 of 2012.

Pls wait; until then, keep learning more with your R15; 14 years of riding & most of us are still learning its good for you & not to mention other's on road as well

BTW, we don't DRIVE a motorcycle, we only RIDE

Patience pays; friend of mine & fellow xBhpian waited over 5 years to realize his dream on Hayabusa. His patience surprises me.

Another fellow xBhpian waited several years, several years to realize his childhood dream on Yamaha R1. His patience blows my mind.

What was your question, again ?

Even I am learning on an R15, it's a great learner bike, i've not tried the CBR as yet, I'm sure it's a great bike, but not sure of it being a massive leap forward, especially as Joel can do wonders for the R15. Not much else in the price segment, Ninja is the undisputed (globally) king of the 250cc segment. Hero cycles make a couple of 220cc bikes and of course there's the Pulsar, not sure if these would classify as an upgrade though. As suggested earlier by others, wait (no idea how long) to see if the market in India improves and there is some real competition, don't hold you breath though.

Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !
