Unhappy R15 vs CBR 250R

friends i ve been owning a hunk for past 4 yrs and im very much satisfied with my bike...now im looking for a upgrade and have these two machines in mind R15 and CBR 250R....Though i want the CBR many of my friends are suggesting R15.

I am very much confused between these machines...I rode the cbr and i liked its torque very much.Right now am in chennai and by 15th im leaving to rajasthan(bikaner).i will be there for 2 years.
now the problems:
1.should i get my bike there? or get the bike in chennai, register and take it there?
will the cops stop me for ridin a TN bike there?should i get anything from chennai RTO?
2.how good are the service centres for yamaha and honda in bikaner?

my height is 6.2 ft and im into touring..need a machine which can cruise at 100 all day long with some reserve power for overtaking...
guys help me out...

I am 6'2..And I currently ride a CBR250R. Although I have ridden the R-15 extensively as well. I would recommend you to go for the 250R, if you can spare the extra 50k. Remember, there is no replacemnt for displacement!

where is the like button?

@jeyesh, get the cbr.. it can cruise easily at 100 all day long.. i have not riden the bike but i have riden a p220 and when p 220 can do that , the cbr will definitely be much more relaxed..

Go with what your friends are saying buy the R15 because you're buying for them

Ofcourse, I'm riding a TN registered bike all over RJ !!!

You've to pay road tax to RJ Govt & then keep using it; from my knowledge I remember seeing a HMSI ASC enroute from Bikaner towards Laxmangargh & from the size of Bikaner, I assume there should be a small Honda workshop that can't be qualified for ASC like what you see in Jaisalmer. But Jodhpur has one good ASC for sure & has good stocks.

yes you can.. get a couple of blank tn petrol pump reciepts and enter a date of every 2 months... and keep this with you..

the rule is that if you are out of your state for more than 6 months, you need to get the bike registered. however, if you can proove that you have been to your hometown every 3 months, they will not harrass you... this works only at some places...

i used to do this during college days for my gujrat registered bike. just show them the fuel reciept for the last 2 months and claim that you are on a trip.. maybe they will let you off...

Go with CBR
If it fits your budget
Else the RTR is good too

For touring, CBR is a better bet. Not that R15 is bad or anything.. but in terms of long distance touring CBR has a better seating position for pillion too.

The only good thing about R15 is that in the later half once you are bored of the bike's current performance.. you can always soup it up courtesy Joel. (:.Welcome To Race Concepts.:)

so purely your call.

cheers
