think twice before going for p135 because quality is not like honda and yamaha.

SZ is better than p135 as a package and the bike is also lightest in 150cc.
Yamaha spare is very reasonably priced and overall the build quality of the bike is superior than other bikes similar priced.

You should look one at finishing of yamaha, honda and bajaj products and you will know the difference.

Considering that we don't know where the TS resides, and also considering that the GS150R thread is full of owners who have reported issues with spares. I'd rather suggest restraint when it comes to Suzuki, no way implying that Suzuki bikes should be avoided.

@Anandsharma. Why are you cluttering every thread suggesting people to go for SZ-R because you think it is the best bike in the market and/or own it? When suggesting something, please try to make it relevant to the Requester's requirement, rather than your own experiences.

I would suggest you to go through the most recent 1000 pages of the GS150R thread and count for yourself how many issues about spares do you encounter.

It happens. Generally a satisfied consumer promotes the product. And i suggested SZ considering his needs as it falls withing the budget and told that it gives mileage of 50-55. If u think sz dosent suit the stated req. then reply.

I would rather suggest the Thread starter to check if he has a Suzuki showroom nearby, if at all he decides to go for a Suzuki bike. Why you taking it personal? You a Suzuki employee?

Suzuki spares are very costly and that is the major drawback. Otherwise GS150R is a very good bike.

And yes, suzuki customers in my area are also reporting spares problem. You will get the spares but have to wait for 10-15 days. And prices are not at all sane for spares.

Suzuki has got very good bikes but they should also provide spares at cheaper rates also.

I would recommend you to go for the honda twister as it has best in class pickup and honda has specially designed it keeping in mind the cornering, stability and other stuffs. The most amazing part of twister is that no other bike(100-150 cc) can beat twister between 0-60kmph speed.

the tyre look thin because of the tall back part of the bike but to be frank the tyre is wider than that of the discover.

Yup . Don't tell my boss.

I ain't taking it personally. All I'm trying to say is that availability of Suzuki spares is not a problem in cities.

AH!! Seems like everyone is just confusing you more!!

From what I recollect:
1. You need mileage of 55-60kmpl.
2. Good bike for a beginner with moderate power to pickup, not a 100cc then.
3. Cheap maintenance and endurance of parts with easy availability and servicing.

The Twister, and pulsar135 should not be in your choice since they have issue with maintenance.. So should also be the Honda unicorn, GS150, Apache, Pulsar150, SZ as all these dont give your required mileage in city and/or are heavier to ride and you requested for a light bike.
I know ppl who would say otherwise or argue about it being best but you know better what you need.

My recommendations in order are(Check out each bike, see how it feels, your height and balancing is imp for a beginner bike rider):

1. Honda Shine
2. Yamaha SS125
3. Discover 125
4. Suzuki Slingshot+ (remember its not easy to get spares after few years, suzuki has worst record of keeping proper supplies of old bikes, do you see any Suzuki zeus now? Its like their way of pushing customers to newer bike, my uncles zeus has met similar fate, getting even a small indicator is problem, you need to try for the spare at other the dealers in city, imagine will you ever want to roam around in the whole city just to find the spare leaving your work. I m not saying they wont get it, just that you must replace it at next service, or if its a major part you must wait for 3-5 days(in bangalore) and imagine about other cities or areas which are not metro, surely 10days. Yamaha and Bajaj are good at this part to stock supplies or atleast you can get it surely from another SVC close by to your area!)
