Smile Bajaj Boxer 150 or Discover 150??

Hi friends, I am just a rookie in the world of Motorcycles. I would like to own a bike which has reasonable power and mileage. Some of my friends told me that Bajaj Boxer 150 is very good and some other told me that Discover 150 is good. I am not giving too much importance to the bike styling though. I am mainly looking out for "The value for money" aspect. But I have not seen Boxer 150 that much in Kerala. So can u tell me which one is the appropriate bike for me??

If VFM is what you are looking for, in the strict sense, then Boxer is the bike for you. However, do mention your requirements, wrt. mileage, usage, etc. so that people might come up with better suggestions.

I 'd say both are tremendous VFM. Take a TD of both and whichever you feel comfortable on, get that and you cant go wrong. Both are super awesome bikes. Discover is slightly more powerful. But Boxer makes up for its really long seat (easy for 3 people). The difference in power will not be felt much mostly. Take a TD and decide. Its only a matter of how you feel sitting on them.

Hello, Thanks for the reply to my thread

My father has a Boxer AT 2001 model. We are planning to buy a new bike in exchange of the old one

I have only driven 2 bikes, they are Boxer AT and Bajaj KB 125. .

I want a bike for my daily use, that is from home to office 'to and fro'. Sometimes my father also will ride it.

In short I want a "VFM" bike

I give importance to mileage. The range of mileage I expect is 55-70.

I also need appropriate power so that I can ride it comfortably in city roads and for riding long distances.(Don't know the horse power value and all, sorry)

I am not interested in sporty styling mainly because I want to ride comfortably. I don't want to lean too much towards the front like the bike racers do. Leaning too much causes back pain to me while riding long distances.

When I asked my friends, some told me about Discover and some others told me about the new Boxer 150.. I am in a dilemma Can anyone suggest an appropriate bike? U can also suggest other bikes.. other than the above 2.

In your case, go the D150 eyes closed. You might expect mileage of around 60kmpl.

Go for Disco 150, since your father will also be riding the bike, he will feel comfortable with Disco 150. It's well equipped and returns good mileage.

i ride a disco 100 gives excellent mileage 65-70 city and 75-80 on highways provided you ride constantly at 60kmph . I think for a beginner it will do ; no idea on the difference between D150 and D 100
