+1

Yes, the heart and technology will remain same with lesser power. And Duke 200 is ready to race, you would not even need a run in period. You can buy it today and take it for race tomorrow.

I don't have any concerns over the capability/quality of KTM. The only point I made was KTM Duke 200 didn't win Dakar championships, all were 400/600 cc rally versions.

Thank You for the response BHPians.

For now I am game for the CL500 but with the Pulsar 200 NS's killer specs, it will be an interesting battle between the KTM 200 and Pulsar NS, provided Pulsar NS is priced aggressively. With the Pulsar NS and KTM 200 strategically positioned in the market, the R15 and the upcoming CBR150 will be rather sandwitched and although the R15 is a very good motorcycle but I feel its sales will definitely be affected.

At the same time kudos to Bajaj for the very desirable Pulsar 200 NS and KTM 200. It only shows how Mr.Rajiv Bajaj is serious about the desi market. Hats off Mr.Bajaj !!

I don't feel that the KTM Duke and Pulsar NS will eat into each other's sales. Even if it does, Bajaj will anyway be the king. But I am more concerned about the R15's market as it is at a cost disadvantage now if the Pulsar NS is actually priced below a lakh as speculated. Where will that leave the Karizma ZMR? Only time will tell.

Coming back to the CL500 versus T500 topic, I am going ahead with the CL500 DS. The T500 is surely going to be over my budget so there is no point in waiting for the same. So for now, its C5 all the way.

Thanks for the suggestion karan1070. I am also willing to experience the Royal Enfield experience and be a part of the rare breed of wanderers.

I totally agree with you, my friend. The CL500 is as good as it gets.

Can somebody please comment on the CBR250R's touring capabilities? Is it comfortable for a person over 6-feet with a pillion and some luggage?

After reading this thread completely and having already booked RE CL500 Desert Storm model, all I can say is that we are sailing in the same ship ... I am totally confused between RE C5, T5, KTM Duke 200 and P200NS. Despite hating faired bikes, I am also considering CBR250R now
