HI XBHP'ians
Need help to choose between yamaha r15 and pulsar 200ns and pulsar 220 I own a 2006 model pulsar 150(p150) almost 92000 kms, I have changed piston two times. getting a mileage hopefully around 50 in bangalore traffic provided if i drive on an avg 50 kmph which I do only on month ends. The sound have changed drastically even though after regular service from authorised service centers. Recently changed the tyres and tubes which burnt my 4000 rs. I have a problem with horn front shock and also front and rear brakes. My requirements are as follows: 1) Comfort: I will be riding alone and also with pillion rider (lady) daily 2) Fuel Efficiency: Anything around 50 would do. 3) Riding conditions: Purely city driving. No highway runs but still as i love riding into woods i may but thats once in 3 months or so. I have booked a car already 4) Price: Max 80- 1lakh(as i will exchange my old bike). YAMAHA? MY VIEWS POSITIVES Its stylish and height factor plays a major role as i am 169cms I can alter its head light with bioscopic one(i mean the R1 kind of) good speed - top speed of 150+ if i am not wrong NEGATIVES I NEED FOR DAILY COMMUTATION I am a banker and I need to travel 35kms avg daily Mileage is also a slightly worriying factor(I repeat slightly) Not sure of the Pillon rider comfort PULSAR 220 POSITIVES Its an Indian brand I already have one (p150) big rear tyre Good speed NEAGTIVES commuting as above and mileage as above its already in the amrket for couple of years after 1 year or so the sound changes drastically which I have seen from couple of my friends PULSAR 200 NS Well to be honest I hardly know but saw the images. liked it especialllly the rear part. Pls advice

Since you need 50kmpl in city, it would be better if you stick to 150cc.
The P200 NS can supposedly return 50kmpl (as claimed by BAL) but I woudn't ride it in a manner that would give me such mileage. My P220 DTSi returns 42-45 sometimes, sometimes 37 so it can certainly never return 50 consistenty (even though my all time best is 56.) R15 FE should be slightly higher than my P220 (if it is run-in with extreme care) but still 50 consistently is a tall order. My 'out of the box' suggestion: save money by not buying a bike, get a Diesel car instead. Carpool and save your money.

if you need a performance bike and had to choose between the 3, i would say to wait for the 200ns to be launched, which will happen in april-may.
im sure that getting 50kmpl will be hard in the 15 and 220 and the r15 scores low on pillion comfort. Cant say anything about the 200ns as of now. btw the r15 is 1.2lakh on road price. if performance isnt an issue, try looking at the gs150r |

Hmmm... You want power...fuel efficiency... and pillion comfort right.
Go for the ZMA eyes closed.
