  • Looking for a bike within 80-90k by d end of '12.....

Hello friends! My height is 5'9'', medium-built body, of 62 kgs. Budget upto 80-90k looking for a 150-220 cc bike. I want a refined engine with strong power, 35-40 kmpl mileage will be enough for me. The bike should have a stylish look. I like a semi-sporty sitting posture, but not pure commuterish posture like Unicorn. I have no special preferences for naked or faired bike. Anything that handles good is worth for me. I don't have special preferences for any brand. But the engine should be reliable. I prefer tubeless tire and rear disk break. Pillion comfort is not a serious issue as mostly I will ride alone. My ways are mixed, include both local traffic and highways. I would like to go for occassional long-tours, say for 100 kms or more. On good highways I'll mostly drive at a speed of 80-90 kmph, and I want such an engine which remain smooth enough at that speed so that I do not have rev it harshly. Mentionably I don't like engine vibrations at all. I expect my bike to serve me for 6 years in good condition (yes, I'll maintain regular servicing). I'll buy it in Siuri, Birbhum, West Bengal (at my place, hero and bajaj have good servicing reputation. Almost all 100-220cc Indian bikes are available here). Now dear bikers, please help me with your experienced suggestions. Thanks in advance....

You would have at least made some kind of a shortlist through test rides. Because a total of at least 13 motorcycles seem to fit in your cc and budget requirements and for us to give you better suggestions, your requirements must be more specific and less generic.

I took another look at your requirements and most of the 150/180 bikes fit your criteria.

    You can strike off :
    P150, P180, Fz/Fazer, Karizma, GS150R, SZ-R for lack of rear disc
    RTR 160/180 For engine vibes

Hunk, Dazzler, Xtreme, P220, 200NS fit your requirements. So it all boils down to if you can stretch for the 200NS.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
