Default [What Bike]: For long tours

I have been registered on this site for quite some time, however till now never got around to explore much of biking. Love to travel, and I love the road, be it on a bike or a car.

This morning I returned from Rohtang pass (was there in an Alto) and I want to do some serious exploring in that area. Now I am looking for a bike that help me explore greater Himalayas and other regions of India.

* I currently own a Pulsar 150cc DTSi, and have ridden it couple of times in Rajasthan, and I actually like that bike.

* Besides that I had an Electra for few months and rode it to Mathura once.

* Have also rode Thunderbird (Sep 2006) model quite extensively, however that bike is like a nightmare to me. I am big (read fat) and only 5.6 inches, and handling a thunderbird becomes a challenge. and somehow I feel that it has bad brakes, bad tyres, bad suspension and god knows what, it completely screwed my back in 5-6 hours of riding.

This is about me and the bikes I have had 'real' experience on. Now what are my options in under 80K other that the Bullet. Remembers my short height and big weight, and the bike will extensively be used to explore and some city riding as well.

Under 80K, P220 will be the best buy for you at this moment. It has everything that a tourer wants.

It long to be approved, and have put in some more research. P220 might be a good option, however given my size, it doesn't look good at all.

I have zeroed in on a Bullet, and Contemplating between a Electra 5S and Standard now. Out of the two for me the deal maker would betheir ignition system. Can someone explain difference between two and relative advantages and disadvantages ?

awright, here is the latest info, Avenger is around 68k on road in Delhi. However I have very strong inclination for bullet.

Now the main challenge is between Electra 4S and Electra 5S.

Here are the rates :

1. Bullet 350CC - 75400 on road
2. Electra 4S - 79400
3. Electra 5S - 79400
4. Electra 5S (Disc and ES) - 89000

However the only glitch is that they do not have ES in 4S and cannot fit as well, however they can retrofit the Disc for around 7K.
