Default Which is the better idea?

Hi Guys,

Thinking of buying a second hand bullet.... Now the question in my mind is which bullet do i go for...

I don't mind any of the enfields except for the Thunderbird.
But the prob i am facing with deciding is whether for instance i should go for a 3-4 year old Bullet which people are quoting around 50-60k for or if i should go for a 2002 or prior model which might cost around 30k and use some more money for overhaul n customization.

Both might come up to the same price. But which one would be safer? Because ill be running on a tight budget and would not be able to afford more money in case the newer bullets come up with some engine probs etc. N its pretty common for people to sell their bikes because probs have cropped up.

Go for the 30k pre 2002 Bulllet they have got better thump and if you will carefully search you will find a bike which will not need overhaul.

Hmmm... Thanks for the reply... Even i was thinking of the same...

@all: As i said i don't mind any of the enfields. So my question is which pre 2002 model should it be? The Bullet 350, The electra 4s or the Machismo 350?? Can someone please tell me what should be the approximate cost for one of these?? I don wanted to conned by people...

And incase its easier for you all to advise keeping in mind my requirements, well

I ride around 45-50 kilometers a day
and maybe once a month a 200 to 400km ride

I know many would say don look at the mileage of a bullet, but anyways 30kmpl would be good( i think all the models mentioned give the same)

The most relaxed seating position of the three, cos i get back aches on my gladi even though it is supposed to have a good seating position ( don no if its my back or my gladi)

The best on long rides, in terms of cruising speed and again relaxed feel.

No im not looking for vintage right now... I no its is very nice addition but not interested in one right now... That plan i ve kept for later when i start working. N yes i no about the high maintenance of the bullet but then again it does depend on a large extent on how you treat the bike and how you take care of him.

Thanks guys,

Prashanth
