  • Bike vs Scooter

    Hi friends,

I was recently having a discussion with my friend on the advantages of owning a bike versus a scooter. And since we could not come to any conclusion, I decided to take the discussion forward here to get more opinions and insights.

I know that there is no winner or loser in the bike vs scooter debate. Every product suits different individuals differently.
All I am looking for is based on what factors should one decide weather he/she needs a bike or a scooter? How do they differ in terms of comfort, performance, etc.

Looking forward to have a healthy discussion.

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Yes, that is what I want to discuss. Which perspective suits which vehicle?

I use the car for things I would need a scooter for.

I tell my chauffeur to get things in my Merc GLK boot.
Ah, the advantages of having a big boot.

Which is also the backup vehicle for when I go out motorcycle riding.

I own a bike but whenever I get a chance to ride a scooter I really love that. It's so easy and fun to ride, and costs less too.

The thing about scooters is that I feel like I'm flying ( feels good though) when I'm riding my Activa at 60 kmph while on my Apache, fell it's pretty normal. Why is that so?

It depends on the individual mostly.

I own a Pulsar and my wife has a Wego. I use my Pulsar daily to work but whenever I get a chance, I prefer Wego just because of the ease of riding. No clutch, No gears, Not heavy, comfortable city riding. Most importantly your left hand will bless you in B2B traffic as there is no clutch that keeps your left hand busy. And you can comfortably rest your legs without having to worry about the brakes. It is a breeze to ride scooters in today's traffic. On the other hand, a scooter cannot match the power of a bike. Bike can quickly accelerate. Some bikes are far more fuel efficient than most of the scooters. Longer rides are comfortable on a bike than a scooter.
