  • Installing Duke 390's stock Handgaurd & End Weights in Duke 200

Now we all know how good the duke 200 is, but the lack of bar-end weights sometimes makes me feel like i am bull riding and controlling the bike was a issue. Asked the KTM Showroom guys and they told me to change it to 390's stock handle bar since the duke 200's handle is hallow type. Read in this forum, that eventually the bike grows on you and you get used to the Vibrations and it gets easy to control. Then i read some folks had installed the Apache's end weights, bought a Pair (Rs 448) and tried installing and managed to do a SIY (Screw it yourself)

Visited the KTM Service center and told them i don't want to change the handle but i want the end weights and hand guard installed. Since, they have always changed to 390's handle to get the job done before But this time the mechanic had an IDEA, he told me buy the end weights and hand guard from the Bajaj spares. Even though it is done by the Service center guys, its easily enough to DIY.

Step 1: Remove the Handle components and handle bar

    A Tip:
    * To make a circular cut in the hand grip, gently hammer the handle ends, that makes the rubber covering the hallow tubes to cut automatically

You need to do it yourself

But since you have detailed it so well, i have shifted sections and placed it here for anyone who wants to attempt the same thing!

    Thanks a lot for sharing!
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

If you had put in apache's end weights, the cost would have been same. No welding would have been needed, also I think you could get rid of the end weights & handguards if you wanted in the future.

I know, i did try that and mess it up. So, this is just another option for people to try. Even in this mod i can get rid of them in future if i want to.

btw if you do it by yourself than it will cost u less ( Rs144 + Gas welding charges) against the Rs 448 for RTR's weights.

Hi, did the price of ktm handguard increase? The ktm service in my area is quoting Rs.800 for a pair.

Can I put these handguards on my Yamaha FZ S FI? I am looking for good handguards, online but I am unable to find any. Amazon has a very limited number of handguards. Please suggest.
