  • Going Out Of Town (Bike Storage Tips Needed)

I own a Honda Stunner 2010 model which doesn't have a kick starter.

I will be going out of town for about 10 days and the bike will remain unused during that period. I am confused if I should keep the battery connected or disconnect it to avoid draining out..

Any suggestions to avoid the battery from draining out?
Signals which are timed for 50 Kmph are also timed for 100 Kmph :)

I don't think 10-day period is long enough to require disconnection of battery.

    Query approved.

10 days is very short period. If you're so skeptical, then, remove the battery & keep it over a wooden bench.

Thanks Sunil for approving this thread and the other one which you closed.

Actually I didn't know that the thread has been moved to the "Help Me" section from the "General Biking Discussions" section. I was looking for it there so I thought that it probably was not approved.

        Anyway,

If you people are so sure that the battery won't drain away in 10 days then I will just leave it as it is...I hope it won't be a problem when I come back from the trip

What if you're gone for a year abroad? How do you preserve your bike then?

I'd dismantle my Rx & probably others might hand it over to their trustable friend.

              Buddy,

I was operated and was not allowed to Ride for a month, i own a HH ZMA-R. Although my bike has a Kick, it started in 1 self start after a month,I had to let it Idle for a while and rev it a bit before i could actually ride it, but it did not give me any troubles

Exactly, my friend gave it to another friend to ride it.
Another friend gave it to my Mechanic, he rides it twice in a week, services it etc for him.

That's encouraging!! I will simply cover the bike with a garage cover and let it be as it is then..
