my bike's problem still persists...
there is coolant overflow through the drainage pipe every morning...the engine is getting hotter than usual, just like the first 500KMs..and, the engine overheating light comes up occassionally once i ride through heavy traffic...once the the light comes up it goes off again right after a short ride/burst in free roads...
i did change the engine oil last week, the fan runs well as i can see and hear that..the coolant was topped-up...the coolant system was checked by the SVC guyz and they say it is working fine...
i am quite confused and frustrated a lot.
guyz, can you help me out...?

Hi All,
took the bike yesterday to my mechanic's shop. while going to the shop, the overheating light came up just after 2KMs and waiting at a traffic jam for 4-5 minutes. after the jam, took the bike to speeds of 60-70 for few hundred yards and the light went off. 15 minutes later the light came up and went off again.
my mechanic did a thorough check-up of the overall cooling system, topped up the coolant and he said, everything seems fine there. however, while coming back home and going to office, i could sense the bike was heating up more than normal, although the overheating light did not come up yet. also, few drops of coolant was overflowing through the drainage pipe, which makes me guess, that there is some kind of blockage due to which the coolant is not flowing properly. planning to take the bike to SVC on friday to have a detailed look at the gasket.

yeah..it's the red light on the right.
and, yes, 2 weeks back I had an accident, a minor one, I had to replace the bodykits and then my personal mechanic, who has been working on my previous bike for 2 years, adviced me to replace the gasket. i guess, it's the issue with the gasket now. will check ASAP.Leave a comment:

sorry mate my post isn't much of your help just some advice:
get your bike thoroughly checked, as stated by other members issues can be caused by busted gaskets or malfunctioning sensors or can be caused by fueling issues (lean mix??).
And I think your coolant level was above max mark (when coolant leaked) what happens is with increase in temperature things expand, so coolant quantity increases.. And when there's no room for the increased (expanded) quantity, it leaks out.Leave a comment:

Are you talking about Engine warning light(orange one) or engine overheat light(red one). I had a similar issue almost 2 years back when entire coolant was flushed via drainage pipe. The bike was thoroughly inspected at the SVC and the culprit was faulty coolant temperature sensor. If the orange light is coming than you can check for error code and verify in the manual for corresponding sensor issue. If the red light is coming than I am pretty sure the head gasket is gone and because of vapor lock the coolant circulation is barred. Result overheating and frequent fan kick ins. Get the bike inspected for gasket and/or coolant temperature sensor.Originally posted by ashaq54 View PostHi All,

however, during the gap of one week, i could feel clearly that the right side of the engine/fairing was getting much hotter than usual even after short rides of 5-7 KMs. this is the second time in a week the engine overheating light came out and since, this is quite unusual for me, i am getting a bit nervous about my bike.
now, i would seek your opinion since, some of you might have had experienced it randomly. please do let me know if any of you have experienced it and please assist me to calm down a bit.

I am also kin of experencin this issue..i hve completed 1400k on v 2.0 ... prior getting the first service i was gettin this issue ..after runnin aroun 5-6 km ..i was feeling the heat frm the right side....now its bit improved after 1st service..but still it gets heated up after 11 km around... that wasnt the case with v 1.0 ... i too had it .... go SVC and get the oil chked...Leave a comment:

a week ago, just after riding 5 KMs, suddenly the Engine Overheating light came-up.
