KTM is committed to building a robust ecosystem that nurtures and elevates racing talent in India. Key initiatives in this direction include a motorsport training facility in Bangalore, India, which includes racing program development. KTM has been actively participating in FMSCI-accredited races and supporting budding racers across the country. A key part of this effort includes the sponsorship of Shlok Ghorpade, a promising supercross athlete who held 4 National titles in 2023 in the novice & jr. categories onboard his KTM 250 SX-F. In 2024, Shlok dominated the offroad championship in the elite class 1 category & led the SX championship in the elite category.
Over the past decade, KTM has significantly expanded its footprint in India through its strategic partnership with Bajaj Auto, marked by two distinct growth phases. Beginning in 2012, KTM introduced a comprehensive lineup of premium motorcycles in the 200cc to 390cc range, featuring both Naked and Supersport models, while establishing a widespread sales and service network. In 2020, the brand further diversified its offerings by launching specialized models like the KTM ADVENTURE range and introducing the KTM Pro-XP program, which provides riders with unique, tailored experiences across Adventure, offroad and Tarmac. The launch of the global KTM range in India marks the third phase of this successful partnership.
Talking about the launch, Gottfried Neumeister, Co-CEO, KTM AG, shared, “Today marks another milestone in the partnership between KTM and Bajaj Auto as we introduce 10 internationally acclaimed motorcycles across multiple segments, bringing Indian motorcyclists closer to the world of premium, READY TO RACE bikes that KTM is known for. Each model embodies KTM's spirit of Adventure, precision, and unmatched engineering. This moment is pivotal in meeting the rising demand for high-performance bikes and nurturing a vibrant community of biking enthusiasts in India.”
Speaking at the event, Manik Nangia, President Probiking, Bajaj Auto Ltd., said, “Bajaj Auto’s partnership with KTM has always been driven by a shared vision to bring world-class motorcycling experiences to India. Today’s unveiling of the global KTM range in India marks a bold new chapter in our journey. We’re not only expanding our range but also enhancing our service and experience standards with flagship stores in key cities. These motorcycles embody the spirit of performance, precision, and adventure that KTM is celebrated for, and with our commitment to Motorsports & a premium customer experience, we are fully driven to deliver the quality our customers expect.”
