  • Honda launches 6 new bikes including CBR500R, CB500X, and CB500F

Sorry but couldn't resist posting all the pictures. Honda site is getting flooded so hope that it might help.

All the three 500's seem to have a full digital console.

As of the only the CB500X is the only one that looks good, the other two are passe.

The practicality aspect aside, but the 600 is totally drool maal. Love the super aggressive looks. Hope that the 500 cbx comes to India. I guess the 500 X makes sense for our roads or rather lack of it in Mumbai.
Just flick the switch and twist my wrist
The beast comes alive, bringing me back to life
A tap to shift and flick of the wrist
The beast takes flight bringing me back to life
Kill the silence, tear apart the dark
The beast rips the road, hell yeah, i feel alive.

What will the price be in India and will all the 3 models come here.

The X looks interesting but the Chasis is a disappointment for me, a Trallis or a Pariferal would have been better is what I feel

2.5 lakhs in the US market that is 4650~4700 usds

i dont expect the bike to be locally made in india

so even if it comes to india it will be imported and assembled here so i expect the price to be easily above 3lakhs
                      more like 3.5 lakhs

if the ninja 250 sells at about 3 lakhs definetly honda wont sell a 500cc parallel twin at about 2.5 to 3 lakhs

Any word out on the power output figs of the bikes?

To me they look like budget-500cc machines which somehow feels built to a price going by the looks and finish!! Still, welcome change for the bike market like ours!!

Price in U.S. start from $5,500/- for the Naked model.

                          2013 CBR500R Overview - Honda Powersports

The Ninja 300 in the USA starts at $4,800/-

Since the CBR500 trio has the Ninja 300 in its target, it'll be interesting to see how these two bikes will compete there. The Ninja is cheaper, has lower capacity, but definitely looks more modern and fun bike!. The CBR500 has a bigger engine, but its around 20kgs heavier and looks outdated (personal opinion).

For clarity, the power to weight ratio of the Ninja 300 is 0.23 HP/kg, while the CBR500 is 0.28HP/kg (for U.SA. models - 54HP) and 0.24HP/kg (for tiered-license countries - 47HP). Not much difference there.

It is obviously possible because since cbr 250r is made in India, Honda can do it again. "May be" sharing some parts between them will further bring down the maintenance cost. They can easily attack Ninja "in India" because of Ninja's higher price and higher maintenance cost. Plus as there is "speculation" of Yamaha 250r entering in our market, they will try to keep it competitive. Still a price tag of 3.5 lacs to 4.00 lacs for cbr 500r with ABS will be better to keep margin between 250r and 500r. And since CB500F is naked version, it is "obvious" that cost cutting can be done.
We can recall that at what price they were selling Hyosung GT 650r (naked version).
