The bike has a 342 watt/hour lithium-ion battery which powers a 250 watt hub mounted motor, giving it a top speed of 27 mph (43 kmph) to help you commute around the city. Designed specifically for use on tarmac this bike hits it top speed without any hassles.
The bike is designed with a MTB type styling but geometry of a hybrid. The aluminium frame helps reduce the weight, but it still weighs in at 22 kg (approx). Not much, if compared to the roadsters which adorn Indian roads, which are heavier! The bike has four settings for its electric propeller, to get varying amounts of power and distance. The battery lasts for around 45 minutes, but can be charged with a regular socket.
The downside - the bike/cycle retails at a mind boggling $5900 or 350000 rupees, excluding 30% customs of course! A much cheaper though no way remotely as good looking option is - B'ebike 5 - Electric bikes - BTWIN
