Hero MotoCorp after signing, Golf legend Tiger Woods as its worldwide brand ambassador is now eying on mega football stars including Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez as its operational expansion plans in South American and European market.
Playing for European Champions Real Madrid, Portuguese national Cristiano Ronaldo is not only famous in Europe, but across the world.
Apart from Cristiano Ronaldo, Hero MotoCorp is also looking at James Rodriguez, a Colombian footballer who rose to fame during the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil earlier in June this year. Signing James will give Hero MotoCorp a good traction in South America.

A statement from the company said
Hero MotoCorp plans to reach annual sales of 1.2 million two wheelers by 2020, only from global sales, not including India. Including India, Hero aims to sell 12 million two wheelers by 2020, which is double of their current sales.
Hero Moto Corp plans to expand aggressively in Central and Latin America for which it has plans to set up manufacturing units in Colombia, Brazil and Argentina. It has already commenced retail operations in Colombia and has launched six products retailing via 120 outlets in the South American country.

"Tiger Woods wouldn't have too much traction in South America, while Rodriguez is a local hero and since he is just 23, he would have a longer shelf life as brand ambassador".
"As we expand our global footprint, we will have a combination of global and local icons as our brand ambassadors as part of our brand-building initiative. However, currently there is no particular name which is under discussion. This is, therefore, speculative information".
