DSK Hyosung will set up Rs400 crore plant in Karad near Pune through its Indian unit DSK Motowheels Private Ltd to assemble DSK Hyosung superbikes for the Indian market. The new assembly unit will add production to its existing facility in Wai, Maharashtra where it has been assembling motorcycles since 2012.
Shivapada Ray, Chief operating officer of DSK Motowheels said :
Currently the DSK Motowheels is assembling the Hyosung superbikes at a small assembly unit at Wai, in Maharashtra that can assemble 12 bikes per shift per day.
DSK's new plant at Karad near Pune for an investment of around Rs 400 crore will make 100,000 per annum in single shift. The new plant will also have a small R&D centre which would play an important role in customising new bikes and scooters.
Ray also added that:
The company have sold around 1,850 bikes last year and plans to launch new GD250N by March 2015.

Shivapada Ray, Chief operating officer of DSK Motowheels said :
"We are in the process of acquiring land for our plant, we already have around 85 acres in possession of the total 100 acre parcel. We plan to start production at this new facility by 2016, and once it comes on stream, we plan to get into manufacturing 125cc and 150cc bikes in India,"
