  • MV Agusta has teamed up with Kinetic for its Indian debut: xBhp News

After Benelli and Ducati another Italian manufacturer, MV Agusta is planning to enter into Indian two-wheelers industry. Ever since Daimler A.G took over MV Agusta, they made their intentions clear that they were looking for an Indian partner to make a debut into Indian industry. The Italian manufacturer will now partner with Kinetic engineering.

Kinetic currently assembles engines for MV Agusta, and being an existing partner seems like an Ideal partner for MV Agusta to build their brand in India. In a way Kinetic motors too will be revived as a brand in India. Kinetic had earlier signed an agreement with MV Agusta for supply of various components of motorcycles for Agusta's entry level model under the Cagiva brand.

Kinetic has their facility in Pune which could be used as an assembly base for MV Agusta if and when they decide to bring their performance bikes in India via CKD route, but chances are that the initial range of bikes will come via CBU route.

Looking at the line-up of their motorcycles, I dont see the pricing will be anywhere competetive to the upcoming 650F or the Z800. IMO.

Thats like saying that the Ferrari will not be as competitive as the GTR.

        Ofcourse it wont be.

I was not referring to the F4 or the Brutale 1090, I was referring more to the 675 or 800. I very well know how Ferrari or the GTR performs w.r.t each other...so yeah...

MV Brutale 800 has been already ridden in India. I had the chance to be a part of the test ride. But could not due to unavoidable reasons.
As far as the pricing is concerned,I heard a figure of 12-13 lakhs for the Brutale 800.

I feel MV is also carrying the same statics as Ducati so price is going to be less.

IMO there is already a showroom in Kathmandu but a not single one in India.

MV Agusta in India! Wow!! As if Ducati's were not enough for us to drool on, we will have one more Italian on board. Good times are here
My favorite from their stable is the MV Agusta Tourismo Veloce 800. What a bike! Italians surely have a charm in all their bikes which is unmatched and unseen.

after reading this news, i thought, isn't kinetic owned by mahindra now..??

searched on google and realized that mahindra owns kinetic two wheelers and kinetic engineering is the parent company.

                    what i still couldn't digest is ->

A Brutale 800 had been imported last year. Since it is 798 cc, homologation will have to be done -

Isn't the MV Agusta F4 currently the fastest production bike (in stock condition) in the world? Or has it been over taken by the behemoth that is the Ninja H2? Not heard much on the outright top speed results for the H2 yet... Theoretically 360 yada yada yada we all know

From my limited knowledge, there is no such thing anymore as the fastest production bike.

It was held by Hayabusa for a very long time and then most Motorcycle manufacturers came to an agreement of restricting their bikes to 300km/hr.
After hayabusa I have not seen this claim being made by any bike with my limited knowledge except by ZX14-R and I think the ZX14R has this tag now. BMW S1000RR also comes really close.

Most modern bikes now are not only electronically restricted to 300 but geared also in a way that they wouldnt go much higer than 300 with de restricter with probably an exception of ZX14R, I think.

Dont know about H2 making this claim till now atleast though. From what I know, I wouldnt be surprised it it also restricted/ geared to 300 only.

Agree.. But I did read somewhere that MV Agusta actually refused to comply with the 'gentlemans agreement' to limit the top whack to 186mph (299kmph). The F4 I heard did 310+ bone stock.. Of course if the rev limiters were removed aftermarket then I guess the Busas and S1000RR to would clock 300+ ......

Well in that case, I stand corrected. I was not aware of this attempt by the MV. Although I still think 310 is slower than Busa's claim. BUSA did some 316 or so back in the day.
