    Honda Activa sells 1 million units in record time: xBhp News

    Honda Motorcycles and Scooters, India sets a record of selling 1 million units of its flagship Activa Scooter in the first five months on current fiscal.

    Y.S. Guleria, senior vice president for sales and marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) said:
    "The over 1 million sale-mark makes Activa the largest selling two-wheeler in the country. April through August, we've sold 1,001,350 Activas, registering a growth of 20 per cent over the previous year. Not just that the Activa volume has grown 20 times that of the two-wheeler industry."

    Mr. Keita Muramatsu, President and CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) said:
    Recently Honda Motorcycles & Scooter India recorded more than 50,000 unit sales in a single day due to auspicious buying on Ganesh Chaturthi and Viswakarma Jayanti.

    Activa & its variants/ derivative models is the reason why Honda manages to hold on to the No. 2 rank in the Indian 2 Wheeler market.
    They aren't doing so well in motorcycles alone, but this continuing trend of gearless scooters is minting them some serious money & sales.

      Activa doesn't have class leading features..Honda's after sales service is also not the best.

          Popularity just like apple fangirls buy iphones only, activa fangirls go for activa no matter what! A friend of mine wanted to buy an activa (read gearless scooter) and despite of suggesting better alternatives and went for activa, it had a waiting of almost 3 months and she didnt mind paying some extra amount to get a quicker delivery.
          Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly.

              Haha yeah! People even referred to my old tvs wego as activa (or any scooter for that matter) , and its not even good, i've ridden it and it is meh i dont know what the fuss is about

                i guess this is why they aren't much worried about higher CC bikes and also the service.
