Re: Jorge Lorenzo and Shark Helmets tie up for MotoGP

So, the rumor was true... Not about Shark. About HJC.
HJC had a contract with Lorenzo for 2015 and '16, before 2015 season itself. Rumors did spread about its dissolution after Valencia 2015.
HJC refuted the rumors this way:-

As claimed, Lorenzo continued to be HJC's No.1 ambassador till... barely 2 more months.

Now that these rumors became truth, are we to believe that there are Italians inside the HJC staff too?

Lorenzo has apparently dumped the HJC due to fogging visors and hampered vision due to misplaced liners.

One Italian Sponsor said this, ""Sector No Limits has always been an expression of the values of sportsmanship, challenge, healthy competition and integrity," the company's official statement read. "[These values] do not concur with the events that have occurred in recent weeks as part of the MotoGP World Championship."

People have varied complaints against Lorenzo. Some blame him entirely. Some say his only one mistake was to appeal in Marquez-Rossi matter when he should've stayed out. Some support him. And many other opinions are nurtured by fans and others...

Anyhow, we better just discuss news and not judge him. That's the RD and God's matter, not ours.

Of course, he's an Ace champ and no one doubt his riding skills. He will get sponsors in the future too.
Let's hope the partnership with Shark gets good.... We wish Lorenzo all the best.

The Media outside doesn't want to be pessimistic. But the truth is this:-

HJC had a contract with Lorenzo for 2015 and '16, before 2015 season itself. Rumors did spread about its dissolution after Valencia 2015.
HJC refuted the rumors this way:-

Lorenzo has lost some other sponsors as well. One Italian Sponsor said this, ""Sector No Limits has always been an expression of the values of sportsmanship, challenge, healthy competition and integrity," the company's official statement read. "[These values] do not concur with the events that have occurred in recent weeks as part of the MotoGP World Championship."
The other way around sirjee. Lorenzo was 'rumoured' to dump HJC midway through the season, because of the helmet failure at Qatar. That cost him a lot of points!

That one Italian sponsor's contract had already expired and had not been renewed. So they decided to make most of the situation by making statements such as that. Playing to the Italian media and fans. The other side of the story which you probably didn't notice!

The switch to Shark is most likely because of this incident

Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Well, I knew about that, and yes, gradually forgot too, but I had no idea that such a one off situation could result in Lorenzo cancelling an existing contract...? I mean, obviously its a one off situation, which mustn't result in cancelling contracts.
Anyone has a media link where its mentioned that Lorenzo cancelled the contract on his own?

There was also the visor fogging up incident at Silverstone.

Almost all the news links say it was Lorenzo who terminated his contract and opted for Shark.

The points lost because of that situation, could have cost him the championship. Lots at stake. A one off situation could cost you points in the championship and in a worst case a fatal crash. Enough reason if you ask me!

The brand HJC is tiny compared to the brand Lorenzo. They had paid mega bucks for Lorenzo, also they don't supply many riders unlike Shark. You will find countless links online for the information you want. Here's one from a site which gives accurate MotoGP news generally - MotoGP News - Lorenzo ditches HJC for Shark helmets

The Monk : Hmm.. I see. Plus, it wasn't a one off incident if we count the fogging too..

That's why HJC refuted rumours of them dropping Lorenzo... And Lorenzo's answer was a diplomatic one, not confirming or denying anything, but instead blaming Italian media.
A lot of insider stuff gets lost while the media is in action with the hottest topics..
