• Turbocharged KTM RC390 which produces 60Bhp!!!

A turbocharged KTM RC390 was showcased at the Qatar Motor Show 2016 by Performance Technologies. Nicola Bragagnolo, founder of Performance Technologies had earlier worked on the Yamaha R3 to bring out a turbocharged Yammie, this time it was the Austrian counterpart to win the affections of the turbocharger!

The idea of the team that has developed these two motorcycles was to bring incredible performance to these small capacity bikes at affordable prices. The bikes in question are the Yamaha R3, KTM RC390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300. The latter still in the pipeline. They wanted to bring the latest European technology to the Asian markets where small displacement motorcycles still rule the roost.

The team felt that Turbocharging the motorcycle was the simplest way to boost the power of these bikes as no major changes were required to be made to the working of the bike, only the intake system had to be modified. The power figures of this KTM are not known as yet but is expected to be in the same ballpark as that on the turbocharged Yamaha R3 around 60PS. Which is incredible! These bikes are hoped to homologated for street use as well. So the increased power of the bikes will be made within the same Rev Limit as set by the factory.

Mario Lega, Allesandro Cino and Nicolo Bragagnolo are the three guys behind this project.

The Yamaha R3 Turbo which was showcased last year. The bike used many components which were hand crafted and built to be sold within 10000Euros to the public. The bike was claimed to be able to give even a Moto3 bike a run for its money! The R3 was said to produce 60Ps at 10000rpm.

I did read... What's the relationship between performance technology vs ktm, yamaha and Kawasaki is my real question... Are they suggesting companies about this mod or any alliance they are in..? If it is in motorshow, then is it official..? If it is official they can anyone buy it..?
RoyalIndian : if someone asks something, pls answer if u know and Interested or just excuse so that others may respond... From ur previous post I didn't get any answer, instead u try to prove overpowering or pinpointed... Not all will be in same level of ur knowledge... Sharing is the main Purpose of this forum I guess... Also I don't think I asked anything wrong In My previous post...

A simple google search and some research into the topic would have helped immensely.

There is no relation between Performance Tech and those brands. Performance Technology

These bikes were showcased in the Qatar AutoExpo. And I am pretty sure Qatar is quite far away from India. How can Indian members give you details on something that is far away from our reach?

A motorshow does not exhibit only launch of new vehicles. It showcases bike products, accessories, custom works etc

Anyone can buy it if you are willing to pay the insane amount of money for it. The R3 turbo mod costs 7lakhs INR

I am answering these questions after doing a google search and reading about this stuff. You can also do the same. Nobody here is a customer of Performance technology and nobody is affiliated to them in either way. So nobody can give you a direct inside answer if thats what you are expecting.

Sharing on the forum is correct but only if the information you require is available within the boundaries of India. If you ask me whether products from Revzilla.com (assuming you know who they are) are reliable, nobody can answer you that because that store is in US. But you can get the answer if you go to their site and read the reviews on their products. You dont need the same knowledge level, just some common sense in enough.

at around that price (over and above the price of the bike) you could get a 600cc with RELIABLE performance.

so we will also get these in a couple of years.

soon we will have indonesian/malaysian copy of these things , and from there it will come into the hands of desi modifiers.

Yes of course we will soon have copies of plumbing and mechanical design , but making it work with any sort of reliability will need deep know how of combustion and efi tunening.
Which of course is still in infancy in India.
Even for Jeeps there is hardly anyone who would transplant a modern CRDi engine just because of sensors and all the wiring. There you don't even have to play with ECU tune.
So in India all this stuff will soon begin but will largely get done with imported tune / ECU , which in turn will keep the costs high.
A good Turbo itself costs over 50k ,with other mechanical parts it sends cost upwards on 1.5-2 lc for parts only.
So its going to be rich man's game for now. But why would a rich man have a 390? Unless he was racing in that cc bracket.
