Triumph Street Triple 765 (not a typo) Spotted Testing.

With the launch likely to happen in mid-2017, the more powerful version of the Street Triple will be offered in four variants

Triumph is gearing to equip the 2017 edition of the Street Triple with a more powerful engine. Apart for the new powerplant, the spied motorcycle has received few minor updates. The company had conducted an online survey around a year ago in which it concluded that the next version of the Street Triple will feature a more powerful engine and be offered in different variants.

The 2017 model is likely to be called the Street Triple 765 for the added 90cc capacity to the existing model. Looking at the image, the engine gets different clutch and engine covers confirming the change to be extensive. Other parts like the bolt patterns and the change in the overall engine block design means it is not the same engine with an enlarged bore.

A few more Triumphs will be upgraded along in 2017.

Could this also mean the Daytona 675 upgrades to a Daytona 765?
Every Motorcycle has a tale to be told and there is no greater privilage in the life of a rider than to have truly understood what his Motorcycle stands to tell. Some of the greatest stories in the world are not written, they are experienced.

How do they know its a 765?

        Why cant it be a 775? or a 750?

Who comes up with these random cc guesses?

          A Valid Question.
After doing some searching, I came to this sentence which explains your question by MCN,

"A survey sent out by Triumph to potential buyers last year revealed a huge level of detail around the proposed changes planned for the Street Triple, with the headline update being a capacity boost to more than 750cc.
We understand the engine is going to be a 765cc as Triumph has been inviting owners to focus groups to discuss the new range of bikes."

So, its going to be an all new Big-Bore-Short-Stroke engine, but do not expect a heavy bump in power.

I think about 110-115 bhp. Why only this much, you ask? Well, Thanks Euro4 emission standards for ruining everyone's party... Also expect a healthy weight increase. Bah!

Recently, even Ducati Panigale 899 was "upgraded" to 959, with some horsepower and a considerable weight increase due to Euro 4 standard exhaust primarily.
Personally speaking, Horsepower is at its place near redline, but I really hate weight increase anyhow.
So much that I would love a 100 bhp 150 kgs bike, than a Hayabusa. I'm sure many here would too.

Whether you call it an upgrade or not, depends on you. But yes, 90cc's more, and it is an upgrade.... sort of.

I only ask because there are rumours everywhere that this is the last year of production of the Daytona and Triumph is shutting it down. They have also withdrawn from all cup races and team sponsorships. So, either they are "upgrading" or they are closing down the Daytona project.

Hope this one doesn't go the controversial way its sibling did in India by wrong DNA testing (Brazil vs Euro spec) .

                  Trumph Street Triple 756

So I was researching about a Street Triple for a friend and came across this on MCN ... thought it was worth a report

Triumph Street Triple 765 finally spied | MCN

Triumph had released special variants of the street triple 675 and I was researching on that. This confirms the rumors of Triumph testing a Street Triple 756 to comply with the newest Euro 4 Norms.

Brother, its not a 756. No worries though. And these pics were seen earlier. As you can check the link, its dated around 25 May, 2016. So, I merged it here, in this thread.

Euro IV is ok, but I sincerely hope for the same bike weight with increased power and torque, in short, the same engine redone. Let's see what happens. In pursuit of more power and torque, its possible that it may borrow more high end lightweight stuff from the Daytona, which by the way, weighs 1 kg lesser than Street Triple despite a fairing.

Ahh ... the mind plays games with numbers (675 circular anti-clockwise 756). My mistake ... and yes I saw the date and was searching with 756 to see if we had any posts. I found none and hence posted.

Though I think it retains the only thing I dislike about the Street Triple ... the oil sump position.

Yeah, but additionally, somehow I find it to have a less appealing headlight...
