    Johnson took the Norton prototype V4 to 8th place on Friday with a top speed of 194.5mph. It was the fastest top speed of the session.

    During the opening race of 2016 Isle of Man TT, Michael Dunlop set the best lap speed of 133.393 mph on his BMW S1000RR and won the RST Superbike Race ahead of Ian Hutchinson.

    Michael Dunlop also recorded first ever sub-17 minute lap of the Mountain Course. His first two laps were both under 17 minutes, the fastest being 133.393 to secure the RST Superbike Race title. John McGuinness came third on his Honda CBR1000RR with a fastest lap time of 128.79mph.
