    Default Honda Two-Wheelers to invest Rs 600 crores in Karnataka Plant

    Honda Two-Wheelers is planning to increase the production capacity of its Karnataka plant by adding a new line which will increase the production by 6 lakh units to the existing 18 lakh units by investing Rs 600 crores.

    Honda also said that, they will double the production capacity of Honda Navi. Besides, it is also planning to launch at least 10-15 products during the current financial year.

    Yadvinder Singh Guleria, operating head - sales and marketing, senior vice president, HMSIL said,
    “Across the four plants - Haryana, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Gujarat - the company's cumulative annual production capacity is around 5.4 million units. HMSIL will also start production in Gujarat by end of this month, which will take company's total capacity to 5.8 million units by end of FY17.”
    Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India, ended the financial year 2016 with 4.48 million unit sales and they are targeting 5.4 million for the current financial year.

    Honda’s 65% sales comes from the scooter segment, while the rest is from motorcycles. In fact the recently launched Honda Navi has crossed 10,000 unit sales mark in just two months.

    The company will be crossing 5 million sales mark for the first time in India.
