Kenans world record attempt will be made on 30th of June 2016 in his native place on Ozman Gazi Bridge in Turkey, the 4th longest suspension bridge in the world during the inaugural function of the bridge in presence of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. His record attempt will add overall importance to the event.

During his last test run on Tuesday Kenan Sofuoglu said,
I just need to sort out everything with the engine, tyres and fuel. Almost everything is ready. We have just a few days to go. I have finished all of my personal preparations. It will depend on the wind speed, but I expect to reach 400 kilometre per hour. I will be spending the next three days at the bridge to see what the wind is like at different points of the day. Hopefully we will be able to have all of the right conditions when it matters on Thursday.
    He also mentioned that,
Hitting 400 km/h will need to be done in less than 30 seconds in order to lower the risk of a tyre blowout.

The WSS race winner will use a special race suit that will reduce the drag while providing uncompromised protection during the record attempt. Pirelli has given specially-formulated compound for the tires that will be used during the run. Elf is providing race-grade fuel that should help the H2R engine produce more power and a higher top speed.

Here's the 400 kph run. One word awesome. Although suerbikes were known for acceleration but lagged behind in top speed compared to super cars.

This is a production bike breaking most supercars speed record.

Blazingly fast, I wonder if he could even clearly see the road at those speeds. But curiously he lets go immediately as the speedo hits 400, why not little more..

Though the record itself is amazing. I cannot even begin to wrap my head around the feeling of 400kmph on two wheels. It is just incredible! But there are two things which stand out for me as much as the top speed itself.

    1. This is the guy who is currently leading the WSS Championship, and taking such a big risk in the middle of the racing season, just shows the kind of madness that these racers have.

    2. I do not know if the Turkish PM finally attended the record breaking event, considering it was at 5AM. But the fact that it was an event to inaugurate the bridge and had the backing of the establishment itself is fantastic. Motorsport isn't very big in Turkey, yet the Prime Minister of the country gives it importance. And this is a few days after a terrible attack on an important airport of the country.

A salute to Sofuoglu and the people who made this possible.

I reached 400 km/h, the maximum speed that this motorcycle could have, after a 4 long months of training, commented the WorldSSP superstar just after breaking the record. I do not remember where I got this idea of the record from first, but when I signed the agreement on 2016 with Kawasaki, I liked and wanted so much this special edition bike. When I asked for the motorcycle, Kawasaki said its maximum speed was 380 km/h and that their dream was to reach 400km/h. The first time I rode it, I felt its huge power and speed, and I made small changes to the motorcycle - keeping its original settings - and did not modify it. I reached 390 km/h in my last trials and today I beat this and reached 400 km/h. I was planning to do this speed attempt for the opening but we had to catch the best weather conditions and so we did it at 5:00 am. The top speed we get to in the world championship races is about 300 km/h, so 400 km/h is a really high speed. It was a dream to reach this speed and thank god I made it. I currently hold the top place in the World Championship, and my next dream is taking the World Champion title the fifth time.

    WorldSBK

I remember meeting him at the Buddh Circuit in India and it was such a pleasure. There was ZERO show of being the then reigning world champion, he was as chilled out as if he were just another bloke.

He might be a madman on the racetrack, but off it he was a perfect gentleman.

Its a demonstration of pinnacle of engineering and utmost discipline of a rider.
He stopped at 400 to show the data logger stopped at 400. The magic number.
But the most important thing is the acceleration.

    0-400 in 26 secs.

That is the speedo indicated 400kmph isn't it? Assuming a 10% speedo error that would mean the actual speed would be around 360kph.
On the other hand these Japanese guys attempted to hit 400kmph too but their GPS speeds were only good for about 352.99 kph that too with the banking to help.
