Good initiative thought we should also keep a eye on our cops that how fast they get educated about the new rule once it comes into effect.

Currently your DL gets points because of a traffic violation. The chip DLs at least. How will the cops do that with a soft copy? Scan a QR code or something?

I have got challaned twice now with the chip DL, but never had any points added/taken away for it. Maybe its not compulsory for the cops to add points

Some of the technology used in the govt sector tends to be neglected/unused/not implemented across the board after the initial excitement.
If everything is centralized and the cops have a handheld device, they could simply enter the document number (e.g. license, registration) and rack up fines/cases against an individual. forget the fancy chips and qr codes.
Again, if they want to, they could do it

In telangana one can ride with a soft copy of the document (they have provided an app for users to download), and also one can ride with attested copies of the driving license and rc (no need to carry originals.. at least within the state). I only keep attested copies on me when riding within the state and keep the originals only during out of state rides. And so far, nobody has ever asked me to produce the originals.
