  • CS Santosh and Aravind KP at the Rally of Morocco!


    The success of leg 2 of the OiLibya Rally of Morocco saw TVS Sherco's Arvind KP in 24th place having 3 more stages in his hand.


    As stage 3 culminated, Aravind KP of Sherco TVS Rally factory team ended moving up to 19th place.




    His team mates Juan Pedrero currently stands at 8th in the 450 cc class & Adrien Metge at 12th in the same class. Overall Pedrero stands at 8th and Metge at 14th in the rankings chart.




    His overall rankings have also improved to 25th, the FIM rank including quad bike is at 20th. With 2 stages remaining in the OiLibya rally of Morocco, KP is hoping to steady progress up the rankings.

    Stage 4 update: OiLibya Rally of Morocco

    As the 4th stage of the OiLibya Rally of Morocco came to an end, CS Santosh of Hero Motosport maintained his ranking at 23rd spot. The Indian thereby maintained his 19th place in the overall list headed by a new leader Benavides taking over from KTM’s Stefan Svitko with one last stage remaining.


    TVS Sherco's Aravind KP ended the fourth stage by finishing in top 30, ranking 28th in the provisional overall ranking.


    The podium was sealed by the three KTM riders, Matthias Walkner, Sam Sunderland and Toby Price, leaving Yamalube Yahama’s official rally team rider Helder Rodrigues at the fourth place, also entering the fourth position in the provisional overall standings.



    Stage four turned out to be extremely challenging for all competitors, as Yamaha’s Xavier de Soultrait finished 5th, Adrien Van Beveren battled it out and managed to finish in eighth place, retaining his seventh position in the overall standings. Meanwhile, the Chillian Pablo Quintanilla from Husqvarna finished 6th and holds 3rd in the overall standings .




    As the race progressed, Alessandro Botturi got a good grip of the race and finished at twelfth place. The Italian rider suffered a broken sprocket on stage two and was forced to sit out the second part of the marathon stage yesterday. Rodney Faggoter finished the fourth stage coming home on 13th position and maintained the 11th provisional overall standing in the OiLibiya Rally of Morocco.

      Rally of Morocco stage 5 - Toby Price clinches victory

      As the OiLibya Rally of Morocco came to end,Red Bull KTM Rally Factory Racing Team closed out their season with Dakar Rally winner Toby Price taking victory in the final round of the 2016 FIM Cross Country Rallies World Championship. Teammate Sam Sunderland was second and Pablo Quintanilla took third place.


      Meanwhile, the Indian rider CS Santosh of Hero Motosport finished 21th with an overall ranking of 30th in the rally. TVS Sherco's Aravind KP maintained his lead over CS Santosh finishing at 17th spot and ranked 26th on the overall standings in the rally of morocco, qualifying for the DAKAR rally scheduled in January 2017.




      Toby Price, who finished third in the world championship after an injury problem in the early rounds, was consistent throughout the five-stage desert race and is in good shape heading into the 2017 Dakar Rally. He had some memorable battles with Sunderland as the Morocco Rally unfolded.




      The Morocco Rally also decided the world championship title that finally went to Pablo Quintanilla after he and Sam Sunderland battled it out throughout the week. Sunderland, who last year at this rally picked up a leg injury that put him out of the Dakar Rally in January, put up a spirited fight for the title but was still pleased to wrap up his season with confidence ahead of the 2017 edition of the Dakar.




      Matthias Walkner, the third in the trio of KTM factory riders made an excellent recovery from a mistake early in the week and finished on a high note. After winning the fourth stage, Walkner, from Austria, opened the track on the final day and led throughout the stage.
