Aprilia RSV4R FW-GP - a production motorcycle that makes power of a motoGP bike
Aprilia has just dropped a bomb by announcing the RSV4 R FW-GP under its Factory Works program. This new bike sounds like the most technologically advanced bike offered by Aprilia.

Re: Aprilia RSV4R FW-GP - a production motorcycle that makes power of a motoGP bike
81 mm Bore, the maximum allowed in MotoGP, is slightly larger than that of S1000RR (road based inline 4), and this puts the Stroke around 48.5mm. (I'm assuming its still 1000cc).
But what caught my attention was the presence of pneumatic valves. In short, it uses sealed air pressure instead of springs, to control the valves' suspension (or maybe the actuation)...
But the thing is... normally you don't use pneumatic valves, unless you want to go above, say 15-16 thousand rpm....
So, what redline are we looking at here?
Anyhow, whatever it is, I do hope it weighs under 158 kgs, the MotoGP weight. That would be a treat for the owners, and probably the closest they can get to a MotoGP bike, although the Ducati Desmosedici RR came pretty damn close!
Let's hope it has a self start too, and lasts longer than the typical MotoGP bike...

Ducati built a separate street legal engine for the Desmo RR which is why the purists never considered it as an actual GP replica. The engine was built from ground up to be street legal, not for the GP.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

I'd think it could be a replica of the last year's Aprilia RSV4 based GP machine(the one they used when they made their return last season) since they already use that model in the WSBK class. Shouldn't be hard to produce them. Aprilia ditched the RSV4 chassis last season after the halfway stage and are now focusing on building a full GP spec chassis/engine combo.Got a $5 head?
