Default 2017 ducati supersport and supersport s launched in india at rs 12.08 lakh and rs 13.39 lakh

Ducati has launched the SuperSport and SuperSport S in India at Rs 12.08 lakh and Rs 13.39 lakh, ex-showroom respectively. The Ducati SuperSport S priced at Rs 13.60 lakh, ex-showroom India will be available from November 2017.

The SuperSport thus spawns a new segment of friendlier, easier to ride sportsbikes than traditional supersport machines. The idea is to offer a blend of track usability without compromising on everyday practicality. Powertrains on the two bikes are identical as both are powered by Ducati's 937cc, Testastretta 11 L-twin liquid-cooled engine that also performs duty in the Hypermotard 939 and Multistrada 950 currently. The engine produces 113PS and 95Nm and comes mated to a six-speed transmission.

The SuperSport S gets better equipment in the form of Ducati's Quick Shift mechanism and higher-specced 48mm Ohlins upside-down front forks at the front and an Ohlins monoshock at the rear. The standard SuperSport uses 43mm Marzocchi upside-down forks and a Sachs monoshock, though both bikes get a gorgeous looking single-sided aluminium swingarm. Both bikes comes equipped with twin 320mm dual discs upfront and a single 245mm disc at the rear, and ABS is standard. The SuperSport was adjudged the most beautiful bike at the 2016 Milan Motor Show and gets a very distinctive looking front end thanks to the design of its all-LED headlights. What's more, given that the bike promises everyday practicality as well, the riding position is more upright and is not as committed as supersport machines. Deliveries for the two bikes will begin from today onwards.

Default Ducati launches SuperSport & SuperSport S at INR 12,08,000*

Ducati India has launched the SuperSport, a motorcycle that combines comfort and versatility making it an everyday sport bike without compromising on the style and soul of a true Ducati thoroughbred.

The SuperSport is agile on urban roads, comfortable on highways and decisive when faced with out-of-town hairpin turns, the SuperSport allows anyone to indulge their sports instinct.

“Our seventh motorcycle launched in India this year, the SuperSport is an exciting model for both expert riders and riders contemplating the Ducati sports world for the first time” said Sergi Canovas, Managing Director of Ducati India. “Expert riders will enjoy its excellent road performance and penchant for touring while the ease of handling and versatility will be appreciated by first time sport bike buyers. The pre-bookings for the SuperSport have been great and our dealership across the country start deliveries today.”

Powering the SuperSport is a twin-cylinder 937 cm³ Testastretta 11° engine, delivering a huge 110 hp at 9,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 93 Nm at 6,500 rpm - a full yet linear torque curve. The innovative front fairing makes for an uninterrupted aerodynamic profile that draws attention to the sculpted tank.

The tail piece that is separate from the rest of the fairing, adds sports elegance and ensures maximum aerodynamic efficiency. The electronics package on the SuperSport increases the level of active safety.

The Sport, Touring and Urban Riding Modes act on the Ride-by-Wire, ABS and DTC parameters to modify the behavior of the bike and adapt it to suit personal preferences and riding conditions. Ducati Safety Pack (DSP), which includes Bosch 9MP ABS and Ducati Traction Control, enhances the bike’s performance and optimises control even on surfaces that offer less grip.

The SuperSport S version comes with a fully adjustable Ohlins suspension, the Ducati Quick Shift up/down system, which is a race derived technology and a rear seat cover.

The Ducati Quick Shift and the rear seat covers are also available as accessories for the SuperSport version. The SuperSport can be fitted with a full range of Ducati Performance accessories that let owners configure their bike to suit personal wants and needs.

Deliveries for the Ducati SuperSport & SuperSport S have started across all seven Ducati dealerships in India including Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Kochi & Kolkata.

The SuperSport and SuperSport S are priced at INR 12,08,000 (ex-showroom India) and INR 13,39,000 respectively.
