The tentative name for this bike has been given as 'H2GT' and is likely to be launched in 2018 and would most likely have a twin-seat arrangement along with a pannier case.
Kawasaki filed a patent application in June last year for the cornering light as per the information made by publication by US patent department It has vertically stacked 3 smaller lights on the corners along with a central projector lamp much like the current H2.
It is reported that the 'H2GT' will have a 3 headlamp setup instead of the mono-eye setup currently which has an LED projector at the center. Speculations are also rife that the new bike will also have the Kawasaki's patented "Cornering Light”. The main headlight will remain the present LED projector lamp, while the 2 lights placed on the side will work as the 'cornering light.' The required sensors to calculate teh banking angle, etc., of the bike are already there on the H2 from the 2017 model onwards.
"The purpose of this mechanism is described as “a supercharger control system for a vehicle engine that can improve fuel economy”. The function is “an intake control valve (relief valve) that controls the inflow amount of intake air to the supercharger is places on the intake side of the supercharger. The intake air quantity control device of the control system of the turbocharger of the engine is “to control the intake control valve so as to decrease the intake amount when the predetermined output excess condition is satisfied”. When the power is sufficient, the part of the wings = the relief valve closes. Kawasaki is advocating not only power but also ecology in loading a supercharger in a motorcycle, which is the form that realized the latter. They can say that this is the best." japan.webike.net
They are also speculating that the H2GT will also have a large windscreen along with full fairing to aid in cruising. It is claimed by the source of the Japanese publication that the H2GT will have a more elegant design against the edgy and sharp design lines of the H2. They also said that the GT will be fitted with a next generation supercharger called “balanced type” which will help in achieving better fuel economy. It is expected that the bike will be launched within a year's time.
xBhp's take : Thanks to #powerTrip360, we do believe that the Ninja H2 is already quite a capable touring machine. On almost a stock H2, we've already covered 13,000 kms across the length and breadth of Australia and with some appropriate tweaks, it will literally go miles as a tourer. The changes that we think would be really helpful would be a raised handlebar, better fuel economy or at least provision to keep around 15L spare fuel, provision to mount side panniers and GPS, pillion seat, full fairing, and a bigger screen cowl. We do hope that the H2GT sees the light of the day and doesn't just stay in prototype/concept stage. We won't mind going around the world on that one
