  • BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS bookings to open from 8 June 2018

The wait is finally over. Official announcement from BMW Motorrad India states that the bookings for the G 310 twins will commence from the 8th of June 2018. Amidst all the speculations and overshot launch dates, BMW Motorrad has finally announced the launch of the roadster G 310 R and the adventure tourer G 310 GS. Customers will be able to pre-book the two motorcycles ahead of the official launch for an amount of INR 50,000. Pre-booking can be done at any authorised BMW Motorrad dealership across the country. Deliveries will be done on a first come first serve basis as per orders.

To pre-book the motorcycles, customers can either visit a BMW Motorrad outlet or request a call back simply by filing up an enquiry form online at www.bmw-motorrad.in

Mr. Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India said, “BMW Motorrad has a legacy of designing motorcycles that bring together unparalleled riding pleasure, pure performance and assured quality in a unique combination. When BMW Motorrad announced its foray into the sub-500 cc premium segment, it created a stir in the motorcycle industry. With the much-awaited BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS, BMW Motorrad will not only enter but redefine this segment in India. These two motorcycles are built for the Indian roads and offer a true BMW at competitive costs. The wait is now finally over as we open up pre-bookings for our customers ahead of the launch. We are confident that like elsewhere in the world, the BMW G 310 R and the BMW G 310 GS will create a successful chapter in the India story as well.”

    The G 310 twins

Newly conceived from scratch, the G 310 R represents everything BMW Motorrad stands for: innovation, quality and powerful product substance. G 310 R embodies the essence of a BMW roadster. It offers dynamic performance and comfort, both in town and out in the country.

BMW G 310 GS takes the excitement a step further into the typical GS territory. It stands for robust adventures on two wheels. Nimble and agile in traffic, yet supremely robust over tough terrain. Its agility opens up a whole new world of riding experience.

G 310 R and G 310 GS will be sold and serviced through the premium dealer network of BMW Motorrad. It is present across centres in India including Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Kochi. BMW Motorrad’s upcoming dealerships in Chandigarh and Kolkata will start accepting bookings of the motorcycles post launch.

We have also been riding the G 310 twins in Australia extensively. Read about it here.

The wait is Indeed finally over. Expected to be priced around 3-3.5lakhs, I really wonder what sort of market are they targeting.

But yeah, no, this bike is definitely not for everyone. KTM fans must be having a laughing FIT by now reading the expected price in various articles. I mean, the R3 is at 3.48 exshowroom, where is BMW/TVS going with this?

But I am gonna hold off until the price is revealed. It could be a lesser than expected if BMW doesnt play the "Elite and Prestigious" card here

            P.S:

Oh Snap. How much will the R be then? I imagine the 3-4 range is because of all the accessory options.

I got a call from showroom.

We have to book the bike with 50k. Then in 20 days the bikes will come. Somewhere in July. Prices will be revealed when the bikes arrive. They will not be more than 4 lakhs on road.
Test ride will be given to those who have booked it. If we don't like the bike, we can cancel in those 20 days. Full amount will be refunded. If we cancel after 20days of booking, 20k will be charged. As the bikes will be dispatched.

I only wish it was mini S1000RR. I would have booked the first one. :P

Finding it difficult to spend so much on a non sportsbike.

I would disagree. It's not a mini S1000RR. It is an Indian version of that.

I am sure if it had a BMW badge on it, you wouldnt have disagreed (someone could probably still do that manually). Even then it would have been an INdian bike just as how G310 twins are.

Oh good, at last the wait is finally over. I am very interested in the 310GS and will book it but it all depends on the price finally. If they price it sensibly considering it is made in India then it will be good for us, else only exports to be counted. It is meant mainly for the developing market so I won't be surprised if it's in the range of 3-3.5L.

let be practical here , the way booking amount and number of showrooms BMW has , its very clear that its not for everyone , it will be the costliest single cylinder bike in India, it even might cross Yamaha R3 price.

Apache310 is around 2.23L ex-showroom , even if BMW adds minimum 25-30k premium then the 310R will be around 2.6L ex-showroom and +30k for 310GS it will surely around 3L ex-showroom.[if they managed to think the bikes are for all] else its more than 3L ex-show price for both. Now add our road-tax+reg charges, another 50k with insurance.

Now everyone will wait for KTM 390 ADV , its as simple
                        Nothing is Impossible ...

My concern apart from price is service & dealership network, only handful of BMW Motorrad dealerships are there in India. I mean if I plan to buy a 310 from BMW, I have to travel minimum 1000kms. If BMW wants it to limit it to tier-1 cities then no complaints.

Hopefully BMW will beat out any manufacturing quality issues which indians are known for.
