The source of the news is a video that seems to show this ‘updated Pulsar 160 NS’. The motorcycle has been snapped at a dealer yard and hence, the launch seems imminent. Apart from the disc brake at the rear end, the alloys wheels on the motorcycle also appear different from the existing model. They seem to have been borrowed from the Pulsar 150. This idea seems to be in place in order to compensate the increase in cost because of the addition of the rear disc brake. It is not clear in the video if a single channel ABS system be there on the updated model or not.

The rest of the things appear to be the same as on the existing model. The 160cc engine that produces 15 bhp of power and 14.6 Nm of torque will continue to power the new model was well. It is mated to a 5-speed transmission. The front suspension are conventional telescopic forks and there is a monoshock on the rear end.
The competition in the segment heats up with the launch of Hero Xtreme 200R which offers ABS as standard and yet carries a competitive price point. The existence of TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and the Honda Hornet 160R in the segment makes sure that Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 has plenty of competition in the market.
